I'll be through posting my "best of Episode 131" batch of clips soon; there are 25 other episodes in my collection, but #158 isn't one of them (unless some fan out there can convert his tapes into a format I can download). So far, I've got 13 clip collections on my "just need the logo removed"...
*nods* The only times Sesame Street ever used the word "fat", was when the lesson theme was NOT health or nutrition. Three more classic examples--
Frances the Fairy: "The letter 'F' can go fast [zing!]...or it can be fat [pop!]"
Kermit the Frog: "The letter 'B' looks a little like a fat man...
:D My unofficial titles for the dot clips in Episode 1:
1 and 2. Business as Usual
3. Where the Heck ARE You?
4. The Early Bird
5. The Nonconformist, Part 1
6. Red Is the New Yellow
7. The Nonconformist, Part 2
30 Dots and a Napkin
So far I haven't heard this variant mentioned, but Episode 355 also has a clip with a crumpled napkin breaking the pattern (until one of the dots pushes the napkin away).
I didn't know they were so old either, until I saw a copy of Episode 1 for myself. Here's the order of the original "30 Dots" clips:
1 and 2. The dots appear normally, with the usual music and no strange behavior.
3. The last dot fails to appear, even when the final chord plays loudly a...
I've got a copy of that clip if anyone else wants to see it (in my 'best of Episode 355" collection):

Count me in, as the song goes: if Sesame Workshop puts out any more "Old School" DVDs, they ought to reserve one set for the classic "trip episode" weeks (Hawaii, New Mexico, maybe Montana).
Holy [bleep]...and I thought my method for dealing with the scary stuff was extreme! (When something on Sesame Street bothered me enough, I'd fiddle with the controls until the picture disappeared.) Thank goodness your folks didn't take the set away for a few years after that paint job...
I've never seen Chuck E. Cheese or Quaker in Sesame Street's funding credits for the past three seasons, even though they sponsor other PBS Kids programs. The only ones that I've heard mentioned are Beaches, New Balance, Earth's Best, McDonald's, everydaykidz.com (an asthma site run by a drug...
If anyone wants to see the "old" Baker #10...
To squirrelboy and other curious fans: I've got several zip files archived with my favorite clips from older episodes. The earliest I have with #10 as a sponsor is Episode 54, so here's where to get the kid counting ten Indians on that toy...
Yeah, I'd love to hear Cookie Monster sing some parody to Captain V:
"True, your all-veggie habit
make sense, 'cause you're a rabbit--buuuuut
for me, they just a sometimes food!"
I reread the last three chapters looking for his death; everyone who was alive at the beginning of this story is still alive, so far. Still, I wonder where Kermit's cab is headed...:)
Wait a minute, Kermit didn't die in this story; he just left with the other characters who took cabs away from the street. Are you thinking of a different fanfic, Fragglemuppet?
Hard for me to say, without being a bit more specific.
My top three old-school Muppets:
Grover; he speaks so well, tries so hard to do everything, AND he loves to hug (awwww!).
Bert; in spite of his "square" attitude and quick temper, Bert is still a loyal friend to Ernie. (I also tolerate...
That's almost as bad as Captain Vegetable's obsession with forcing crunchy vegetables on kids like Eddie, whose favorite food (spaghetti) is already healthy...and usually contains vegetables already (tomato sauce may not crunch, but it's still healthy and made from a vegetable). Excuse me...
