Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Gotta love how unnecessary Gonzo's cannon was in shooting Kermit into the other backyard, seeing as how he hopped over the fence with ease as he made his daring escape. Guess Gonzo was looking for any excuse to use that thing. :D
For spin-offs like Muppet Babies, or for assisting in puppetry in certain areas (like huge crowd shots), sure. But for the main series? Heck no! I don't see Jim doing anything like this if he were still alive; that is, using a medium purely for corner-cutting or laziness. Replacing the Muppet...
Yet he still voiced his character in Kingdom Hearts III, seeing as he loves to do so. I don't think it's because of political reasons.
Tim Allen didn't return to voice Buzz, either, but that's probably because Square-Enix could only afford so many big-name celebrities.
You can thank that Dora & Friends show, which aged Dora up, put her in the real world, and removed just about every beloved magical character. And yet she still talks to them like they're morons. So it's no surprise it flopped quickly.
Besides, Nick Jr. is making bank with Paw Patrol now...
The Barney's Great Adventure review Doug recently did has to be one of the funniest in a long time. I especially loved where he quoted the dialogue from the Mister Rogers special where Daniel Striped Tiger asks Lady Aberlin about assassination and of Big Bird mourning Mr. Hooper's death, except...
They are definitely teasing us with a DW reboot, if anything. :)
And even though they're going to re-cast just about everyone just like with DuckTales, I'm wondering who will voice Gosalyn? I could see Lara Jill Miller or Kari Wahlgren take on the role. Bushroot would be a little harder to...
After trying to identify an unusual ice cream truck song I remember hearing a lot as a kid (which turned out to be the 1907 song "Red Wing") and getting a little obsessed with looking at videos of ice cream trucks on YT, I stumbled across this old news report from 1987 in Minot, ND where the...
Surprising how they made real-life Muppet versions of the Babies, which is very nice to see. I especially loved the boy trying to boop Fozzie on the nose in the first vid. :)
It's possible they could have been made while MB was in production and used as reference points for the CGI.
The show is very Recess or Ed, Edd n Eddy in concept, about a secret world and society of kids. And I especially love the varied world they live in, which is a seemingly endless wilderness set in their backyard.
And you gotta love some of the side characters, like a clique of girls who pretend...
Trix brought back the fruit shapes that were used throughout the '90s, but are called "Classic" Trix. And even though I grew up with this shape, it's inaccurate to call them that considering the uniform round shapes were the actual classic.
It's nice to know that the third HTTYD film was actually the most successful in the U.S. in terms of opening weekend, though worldwide the numbers pales in comparison to the 2nd so far. Once it opens in China, it might go up.
