Even better is when there are jokes in kids' entertainment that fly right over even adults' heads. A lot of the stuff from Rocky & Bullwinkle certainly counts, or even this little bit from one of your most reviled shows.
This Memorial Day weekend, Solo hasn't been making as much as the previous Star Wars films under Disney so far. Don't know how much better it will fare internationally.

Here's the full version of the Wiser Family VHS "Look What God Made" that I talked about when I first started this thread. I just love the honest brutality of the Old Testament juxtaposed with (mostly) cheerful songs recapping the events. And I still can't get over the fact that those puppets...
I'm very happy to report that Show Dogs was worst in show this weekend, coming in at 6th place and being the lowest-grossing of all Raja Gosnell's films. Parents are clearly waiting for Incredibles 2, or have taken them to see Deadpool 2. :D Either way, that's one less live-action talking animal...
I could see an episode where Fred tries to paint some happy little trees, or Bob tries to play the piano. Neither may be very good at it, but it could be a lesson in that just because someone's good at something, that doesn't mean they're good at other things, and that's nothing to be ashamed...
You know what the biggest missed opportunity on the show was? Mister Rogers meeting Bob Ross. They're both mellow, happy, devoutly Christian men, making it a perfect combination! Alas, that never came to be. :sigh:
Phillip Huber sounds like a real talented puppeteer. He was the guy behind the street puppet show in the beginning of Being John Malkovich, where John Cusack gets his lights punched out by an angry father who is apparently under the impression that all puppetry is for kids.
He even did some...
The ABC sitcoms I pay attention to, Fresh Off the Boat, Black-ish, and Speechless will also be renewed for more seasons (The Goldbergs was renewed for two last year).
I feel like the 5th season will be the last for FotB, as the '90s are going to have to end eventually. We could see a finale...
Infinity War continues its reign. Hopefully it and Deadpool 2 will stay up long enough to keep Show Dogs from being a success.

Most of the songs in the Land Before Time sequels were pretty meh like the sequels themselves, but there are two that I admit that got me tearing up are "Grandma's Lullaby" (from the 4th installment) and "Always There" (from the 5th). Both feel like something that could have been in the 1st film...
Interesting how we get another new character in the form of a shy and neurotic frog named Carlos. I liked how he introduced himself with "Ho-heigh", clearly a reference to Reporter Kermit's "Heigh-ho".
Just like I had hoped, we had an episode that took place outside the nursery, one of the new opportunities this reboot has presented us with. And I totally expected an homage to the scene in Ferris Bueller with the babies wandering throughout the museum, including Fozzie staring deeply at "La...
Also, FremantleMedia will be involved in the production, the same company that's reviving Supermarket Sweep, which is another game show so many have been clamoring for to come back. :)
Great to see Nick caring about game shows again. Sanjay & Craig had episodes dedicated to Double Dare and Guts with the hosts reprising their roles, along with The Loud House and Legends of the Hidden Temple. So it's only a matter of time before the other shows I mentioned get revivals...
Yeah, and it's from the director of the live-action Garfield and Smurfs movies. He should have been done after the failure of Smurfs 2.
If families with little kids let Nine Lives flop, then I hope they will to this, too. I'd even go as far as to say they should take them to Deadpool 2.
As insipid as the live-action Woody Woodpecker film was, I'll give Universal credit for using Eric Bauza to voice the title character rather than blow money on an A- or B-list celebrity and speed up his voice to unrecognizability. Though I don't understand why his voice quality sounds like it...
