Funny how these articles come the week I've finally given up hope on Disney buying Henson. I hope, but don't expect.
Keep bringing the articles though!
Yes, the majority (from what I see anyway) finally agree or realize that Disney would probably be the best place for Henson. Whether they're TRYING or Saban is still bidding or anyone is doing ANYTHING, we just don't know. Well, maybe by New Year's.
Great news! Maybe Henson will do like Hanna-Barbera did and make a bunch of TV movies based on their shows.
Would that be a good or bad thing? Anyway...
And as for non-Muppet movies, "Follow That Bird" was on Starz Family a couple of weeks ago, and Dark Crystal and Labyrinth were on Hallmark (I believe) the week Kermit got his star.
What ticks me off mainly about Disney Channel and even Toon Disney is their major lack of the classic shorts. Although I wasn't an avid viewer of Vault Disney, I still think the Ink & Paint Club was a nicely-formatted show despite its late (or early) time slot. And while reruns of the...
First post in two weeks...
Last year/early this year, Henson.com said Hoobs and Construction Site would be on Hallmark this past fall.
Well, if it counts for anything, The Muppet Movie, the Jack and the Beanstalk miniseries, and I believe The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth were on this week.
My opinions on those:
A) not really a MAJOR concern, but, yes, that would be nice. But, right now, if Kermit actually does stuff with Classic Muppet group I'd be happy.
B) not really necessary, to be honest. Particularly TDC which bombed. But definitely some attention focused on the...
D'oh! Typo, can't believe I noticed 'til now. I meant what "Henson could do for Disney" in the last part. Man, and I wrote that how long ago...
When I said that, I meant that Disney would put the Muppets in the parks, stores, networks, etc. Keeping the Jim Henson and/or Muppet name in...
Yes. Bean has the right idea. That was what I've been hoping for since early 2001. Those are the things Disney could do for Henson, and what Henson could actually do for Henson.
Wish I had mailed that post with the four-page letter I wrote to Disney on Monday about the whole JHC thing. :-)...
They had to buy Fox Family, didn't they? Though I've been rooting for Disney, kinda figured they'd never buy them. It was so likely it wasn't likely.
Well, rather a billionaire than AOL Time Warner.
From Big Bird and The Dark Crystal to two German companies named Kirch and EM.TV. How far we've come.
Saban, buy KirchMedia. It's bigger!
I still just don't understand how EM.TV could let Mr. Saban get Henson for close to $100 million while Disney (or whoever) could have been expected to...
