All I know is that Kevin Clash (Elmo, Clifford) is the first one who sings. OT, I think "Chilly Down" should be put down as one of the great Henson classic songs - Muppets, SS, or not.
I don't know if the Muppets will become more "cheeky clean," but hopefully the Classic Muppets will get more exposure and activity and Henson's new preschool shows (which they do more than anything) will keep, mmmmm, flowing as well.
Oh yeah. Remember when the biggest debate was Disney buying the Muppets? Ironic how that's moved from "debate" to "acceptance."
And yes Luke, you should kick yourself everyday for starting this thread.
Classics from the Henson libary on Disney's network. That's what I would look most forward to.
And personally, I like Eisner. I don't know why, I like the way he hosts Disney's anthology show. I don't know, he's like a Letterman-type figure. But unlike Letterman, he seems to like the Muppets. :p
I agree. While you (sidcrowe) have the complete right to voice your opinion, you are going over the top in your comments.
Yes, and don't bring a dead man who has no comment on this matter into it.
Don't worry, in five years when Henson (if it's still around) celebrates its 50th anniv., I'm sure they'll make a commemorative "50 Years of Muppeteers" underwear & bra set.
Then we'd probably be asking ourselves "What will happen if EM.TV is not able to sell the Muppets by the end of May?"
And personally, I don't think Disney will buy the Muppets and/or Henson. I just don't think they will. Despite all these half-baked articles, it just seems too likely to be...
Oh yeah, Disney has "Disney," "ABC," "ESPN," "Miramax," and all the things under them. While Viacom has CBS, UPN, BET, MTV, Nick, VH1, Paramount, Showtime, etc. etc. AOL Time Warner got Turner, Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros., AOL, Time, People, Sports Illustrated, cable companies, old MGM films...
My 400th message/Happy Birthday Mom!
Four fingers. And I'm not concerned with what Disney has traditionally done with THEIR characters over the past 80 years, to me it's about what this big media conglom can do for the Muppets. Might not be perfect, but it's not like it's any better now, or...
No, it was the first Valentine article in Dec. that said their "initial focus" would be direct-to-video releases, though yes I'm sure him and other suitors would probably have additional plans for the Muppets. Though Classic Media have yet to prove that to me, and Ent. Rights, well, that's...
Now for the ramblin'...
Well, let's put it like this. If Disney buys "The Muppets" (and the libary) as opposed to "The Jim Henson Company," there will still be Muppet stuff from a company that has the potential to put Kermit & Co. back in the forefront, as opposed to a company like Classic...
