At least now I know WHAT HAPPENED. Now I'm on the first step of moving on. I just wanted to know how Disney screwed it up again, and now I know.
So Brian didn't snatch the Frog from under the Mouse's nose, he snatched it from the Friendly Ghost's, mmm, something or rather.
The Disney merger was announced on August 28, 1989; the EM.TV sale occured on February 21, 2000; the Dean Valentine deal was announced last Christmas Eve; and May 7, 2003, was when the Henson Family bought their dad's company back.
I'll probably change my signature anyway, just seeing how I...

Kermit the Frog is heading home.
Germany's EM.TV said Wednesday it's selling Kermit and his Muppet kin back to the family of the late Jim Henson, creator of the well-known movie and TV...
Hey, according to some articles (a few of which I posted in the other thread), Disney might've backed out two weeks ago anyway. So if the kids saved the Muppets from the "dynamic" duo of Classic Media and Sesame Workshop, then I'm all for this.
Once again, I want Disney to own Henson, but I...
I just sorta found this interesting, though no one probably cares at this point.

That author needs to get his facts (or fact) straight.
I'm still not understanding what this "$11 million in liquidity" thing means though. Really, one minute the Hensons buy JHC for $89 mil--78 + 11--then I hear that EM.TV is keeping the $11 mil. I don't know, corporate stuff.
Oh well...
Re: and another article
Well, if this is indeed TRUE (though it makes me question the media reports now) and it means what I think it means, well...YAY HENSON KIDS!!! Hoo-WOWWWW!!!!! *screech* Hey, Brian, Lisa, Cheryl, John, Heather, you go kids! You teach Casper a lesson!
It's either...

Rightful owners, but are they the right owners? We'll see.
The whole thing's sorta sweet and symbolic, but I still want Diz to buy them. Well hopefully, God willing, I'll stop caring (as much). Wish me luck!
(And I was writing this message while Radionate was posting his.)
OK. The Henson Family have reached a definitive agreement to buy the Henson Company. So right now, they're buying the Muppets and the Creature Shop and everything else.
Now, if for some reason, the deal fell through, much...
They've started the process. They still need approval, though. Though at Hoover's Online the Henson Company is listed as "Private" again.
And Phil, when you add this to the timeline, call them the Jim Henson Family, and not his children or kids. They are of course, but Family is just sounds...
Well well well. I have several reactions to what we are witnessing here today. Let's start:
1. Wow! Wowee, wow, wow, wow, whaa? I didn't see THAT comin'.
2. Where the F did this come from?
3. Hmmm, though I haven't needed this thought in the past year, I always said if Disney couldn't...
Yeah, my previous comment was sort of a note of sarcasm. But I wished for the middle of the road (under Disney ownership of course).
Interesting day, and I've only been up half-an-hour.
