Ashanti, Tarantino Off to See Muppets in 'Oz'

I have a feeling if Bean will be in this movie, there will be pain. Really, everything he's done in the past 15 years has involved him getting hurt. Sad, but very entertaining. :zany:

Ashanti, Tarantino Off to See Muppets in 'Oz'

Gees, Frank Oz is such an obvious surprise cameo that they have to use that as an inside joke. I mean it's just so perfect! Either way, I'm now pretty curious about who the Wizard is going to be. Don't know if I need to be, but I am for some reason.

Ashanti, Tarantino Off to See Muppets in 'Oz'

That reminds me. I wonder if Michael Eisner will introduce the film. If so, this could be the first time we've seen Eisner and the Muppets side-by-side in 15 years.

Contacting The Muppet Holding Company (AKA Disney)

Well it's no Jim Henson signature, but it'll do. Let's see if the MHC logo will be seen at the end of the "Wizard of Oz" movie coming next year.

    Who owns the rights to...

Very nice rundown. As for "Unknown Ownership," Disney owns "Mr. Willowby" and Henson retains the rest. For the Muppet films Disney has Henson's "stakes," so to speak, in MTM and MFS. TMM and GMC are the two Henson films that Disney bought FROM Henson. As for "Swamp Years" and the NBC...

    Who owns the rights to...

Yeah, where did you hear that? I don't think we should be quick to assume that just because Disney owns the Kermit character, he'll be cut out of "Emmet Otter" and "Christmas Toy," despite how minimal a part he played. Just like I think it'd be wrong to assume that the Sesame and Fraggle and...

    Who owns the rights to...

That's what I said. I bet that "Bunny Picnic" would still be owned by Henson today if Bean Bunny did not become one of the "Classic Muppets."

    Wasn't 80's fantasy the best?

Yeah I've heard of it; I just thought it sucked. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but it was a bad film IMO. But hey, aside from the Henson works, I'm not a real fantasy person. I haven't seen the LOTR trilogy, but that's mostly 'cause I don't watch a lot of movies. :smirk:

I think it's just for feedback. Of course you could bombard them with letters.

    Who owns the rights to...

Not necessarily. Basically, anything with Kermit and THE Muppets in starring roles are owned by Disney. Specials like Emmet Otter and Christmas Toy, while they feature Kermit in the narrating role in the beginning and the end, are still owned by Henson. Probably because they focus on characters...

Smashing job, Watkins. ;) Seriously, good job. Now we know the Muppets' new address.

Email Disney for The Muppet Show

A little off-topic, here. You know in the back of my mind (where a lot of my thoughts are kept ;) ), it wouldn't be so bad if Disney Channel played "The Muppets at Walt Disney World" special. Like I said, most of the Muppet library would fit better on ABC Family, even this. But if Disney...

    Tales from Muppetland DVD Collection

    >>Best, Debbie McClellan Director, Creative Affairs Muppets Holding Company<< I knew she was working at Disney now. I tried e-mailing at her Henson address a while back, got a reply saying for Muppet inquiries, e-mail her at Disney. Anyway, getting those three Muppet specials on DVD...

Email Disney for The Muppet Show

If you want "Muppet Show" reruns on TV, I'd try my luck with ABC Family more than Disney Channel. It, and most of the Muppet library, would just fit better there. Muppets Tonight, on the other hand...

Leland Henson Museum on Turner South Network

Radionate: Was this a photograph display or a physical display with the felt Kermits? There were a bunch of photographs of Jim AND physical displays with the felt Kermits. And I saw these on the TV show, I've never actually been there. Fozzie Bear: BoyRaisin-where are you from (besides USA...

1990: Muppets Team Up With Mickey

Hey all. I bid for and won the Summer 1990 issue of "Disney News" off eBay. It is the one with Jim Henson and Kermit on the cover. And just for the heck of it, I decided to post the cover story about the Disney-Henson merger for those who have not seen it. So enjoy. MUPPETS TEAM UP WITH...
