FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

I sympathize; future generations should not be blamed for the problems of their ancestors. :)

No, but those countries happen to be. I've spoken with people from there, it's not pretty. And yes, we are a capitalist nation. Have to be blind not to notice that, hehe.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

America's far from becoming a dictatorship, we don't know the meaning of the word. We can try living in Russia or China for a day if we really want to know. ;)

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

According to Jesse's autobiography, Luz was afraid for the safety of his family if he didn't join the army. That's what it was like to live in a dictatorship. I'm not saying every Nazi soldier was against it all. But many were.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

I don't say anyone is a bad or shallow person. And it's not about getting over hate. Jesse Owens still went to war and fought against the Nazis, even if that maybe met fighting against his friend on the battle field. It's really about also finding the love in a situation. Jesse and Luz continued...

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

I don't think we're here to solve all the problems. We can't stop things from ever happening again. All we can do is try, that's what will matter. And whether we, even in the midst of the worst circumstances, can recognize good and feel love.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

You know about the athlete Jesse Owens, who won gold in the 1936 Nazi Olympics, challenging Hitler's racist propaganda? He wrote in his autobiography that his main competition came from German athlete Luz Long. To his surprise, Luz ended up supporting him (which was a very brave thing to do with...

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

Well I do agree with that. There's are certain beliefs I have that are important to me and I wouldn't want to see ridiculed. But I am a believer that there's good in everyone and everything, despite the evil they may do. The good doesn't cancel out the evil, but the good should be sought out...

Honestly, I used to hate South Park too. But "I learned to meet my brother in my enemy." ;) It's been an interesting discussion! And I'm glad it wasn't a fight. :)

I agree some of those jokes are kinda stupid. But I just don't look at most of those parodies as evil. They're meant to be funny, not to ridicule. If some people use them for the wrong reasons, it's their fault, not the parodies.

Thanks, it's good to have examples. I think this is a matter of cause and effect. People were making those jokes for years (especially the Walt Disney one, that's really old). I think the TV parodies are just reacting to those jokes. They didn't start them.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

Obviously there is, if I and so many of its fans see it (and they're not all immature people ;) ). The fraggles used to argue that no one could ever love a Gorg. They later learned differently. Honestly, that's not what they do. They point out problems, and they offer solutions in the end...

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

Well I meant more that people think shows like South Park are bad, therefore they appear to be. I don't really have the same worries about parodies, as long as they're remotely clever. Many people make these parodies out of love for the product.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

Since we're talking about Fraggle Rock, I'm reminded of the episode "Believe It or Not." Ma Gorg believes Skinfrith is a monster, therefore, that's how he appears to her. But the only reason he looks like a monster is because she's decided he is. But she's wrong.

They pick at everybody, it's equal. And every group in this world has some kind of fault or hypocrisy or amusing quirk, even the things we care about. It's essential that they be pointed out sometimes (as long as it's fair).

    Another TV Land Outrage!

It's just that the idea of a classic is that it stood the test of time. Shows from the '90s haven't really been able to prove that yet.

FINALLY a Complete Series Set I DON'T Oppose!

Yes obviously, I think we do have conflict in the world in order to spur us into action. If everything was perfect, we would never learn anything on our own. But it's stillt the people that matter to me rather than the conflicts. ;)
