Oh yeah I understand that's the joke and all. I just think in earlier productions, it would have been done differently. More tragic and dark. Here it was more for shock value, in my opinion.
Same here, lol. I'm fully convinced God enjoys Spongebob, hehe. (And the Muppets of course). :)
In fifth grade we were doing a pretend talent show in class and I was playing the principal introducing the acts. On a whim, I decided to introduce every act with my own excited (and Kermit inspired) Yaaaaay! :)
Some students told me to stop because they didn't think a principal would be doing...
Lucas admitted in an article once that in the prequals, the story took a backseat to the special effects and that is almost always a mistake. Hollywood needs to learn that a movie is only as strong as its storyline. The special effects should support the story, not BE the story. :)
I guess the reason so many cool things are being released after Christmas is because companies figure the public is eager to spend whatever Christmas money they might have been given by generous relatives. Hehe ;)
I think it's more childish and over the top than other classic Sesame Street projects. But as usual, the Muppets involved manage to shine above it all. :)
Oh I never minded it when the Muppets did risque humor. But there are different levels, that's all.
That's a good point, both are quite somber stories in order to make the ending more touching. Christmas isn't about being blindly cheerful, but perservering against problems as well. I think...
I agree; while pre scoolers was the main audience, they used to have a wider range of kids. There also used to be more natural interactions with the kids, now it seems very scripted.
My Grandpa was born left handed, but in his day schools required him to learn to write right handed. For the rest of his life he was ambidextrous. (Though, he was also quite artistic so he may have ended up that way anyway!)
No you didn't seem defensive, you wanted to stand up for a show you liked. :)
I actually liked Whoopi's moments better than I thought I would. I never minded the idea of a female God or anything, just that having a big celeb play God seemed odd. But she was a nice interpretation to me. :)
I didn't like the jaded and mean spirited jokes that occasionally popped up in this show. But I did like the moment when Kermit realized he never should have wished he was never born, that was very inspirational.
