Ghostbusters 3 finally on the way? You decide!

I totally understand. It's not about her specifically (I think she's really good), it's about this attitude that the popular stars are needed to "legitimize" something.

    The RHLC!

I have to admit, I'm really bad with bookstores. I feel like I end up buying things a little too often, when it's probably wiser to just read and run, hehe.

Ghostbusters 3 finally on the way? You decide!

Wow really? Huh, interesting! I have to say I'm intrigued. Normally I'm against classics showing up again years later because they usually don't meet expectations. And this might not either. But in this case, the idea of getting the "gang" back together is also quite exciting, hehe.

    My autistic son.

A little while ago I read about a book called Breaking Autism's Barriers by Bill Davis. He described how his young autistic son had an astonishing ability that coincided with the Muppets in an amazing way:

"Gee, I wish I were you people..."

Well you know, the scene is practically begging for parody, Mystery Science Theater style, hehe. But yeah Dark Heart was actually a rather intriguing character; that's one thing I like about Care Bears, they weren't afraid to say things like, "Good or bad, you're still a person." Ok off...

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

I definitely agree that they were often exagerrated (or probably over dramatic is the best term, hehe) and preachy. And that left them a bit open to ridicule and critiques. Though in the end, there's really no excuse for not knowing the dangers of drug use. ;)

"Gee, I wish I were you people..."

Oh yeah I just think it's funny little expression to show his exasperation. (Btw, that's one scene where I really wish we could have watched the puppeteers underneath!) :)

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

Moving away from the wistful world of cologne jingles, we turn to the tragic story of Suzie. Suzie had everything, brains, looks, a bright future. But sadly...she also had drugs. (Warning: Mildly disturbing, still it was shown on network TV) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf3LkCkDFKU This...

Yeah Kermit's oddly fond of labeling people like that isn't it? Hehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN2109FAcdo

"Gee, I wish I were you people..."

Seriously, and we thought the Muppets had no canon! ;) Lol, brilliant, we don't even have to explain what we're talking about! :insatiable:

A disgrace to the word Muppet!

In the book Of Muppets and Men, the authors is surprised to notice that Richard Hunt did a pretty good impression of Kermit for kids visiting the set and how he was unique in that he could perform other puppeteer's characters. Wish we could have heard that. ;) :)

Oh yeah that scene, actually I was always too embarrassed to do that one, lol.

"Gee, I wish I were you people..."

Heh, it also reminds me of the live action Peter Pan movie (the one that starred Mary Martin) where Peter Pan asks everyone in the audience to clap so Tinker Bell won't die. As a kid I was always too afraid not to clap, just in case it really did happen! ;)

Great to hear from you! Janice is definitely one of my top favorite characters, I've always liked the sound of her voice. I think I sensed it was different somehow, hehe. ;) That's awesome, MN, how long were you walking?

What behind the rabbit? It is the rabbit! Very true, it's exactly like that, lol. It's cute but more effective under the proper conditions.

A disgrace to the word Muppet!

I don't mind people doing silly things with the Muppets on youtube, even if it's a bit racy. As long as it's remotely intelligent...and funny, yeah that's kinda important too. ;)

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

Actually now that I think about it, I had that problem a lot as a kid, lol. Sometimes song lyrics just bunched up in my head and my mind translated them as pleasant sounding gibbrish. ::shrugs:: lol

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

You know I didn't even know the commercial was about cologne until I found this clip! :insatiable: Even worse, as a kid I couldn't make out what they were saying ("Which is "easy for you...Stetson makes it easy for you"). I thought they were speaking a different language or something, lol. :halo:

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

Just thought of this thread again, I found this '80s Christmas commercial on Stetson Cologne. The song was always playing when I was younger; one of those commercial jingles that sounded very important and classic, yet it was advertising something quite trivial, hehe. Still, as someone on the...
