What would happen if Sesame Workshop retired Elmo?

Things I've read about and heard from experts in the field, like from lectures etc. It's not always that simple. Just because something's on the air doesn't mean it's getting great ratings. And just because something's taken off the air doesn't mean it wasn't popular.

Sesame "Muppet Diplomacy" in the news

The difficult thing is when merchandise is made in China and hence, by child labor. I do understand that it's hard to avoid right now. But it doesn't make me feel great about buying stuff in general.

    On the subject of remakes...

Just my own opinion, I felt the new Willy Wonka was a remake. I realize it was closer to the original books, but it was a movie, not a book. So it would inevitably be compared to the classic film. A completely different story involving the same characters (i.e. Batman) isn't a remake to me...

    2012 Theories

All I can say is, our government is very foolish and selfish not to give more funding to NASA. If anything does happen to the planet, at the moment there's no place else we can go. ::shrugs:: I don't think the discussion needs to be closed unless it gets too much or anything.

What would happen if Sesame Workshop retired Elmo?

Honestly though, I think Television is on its way out and I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone in a few years. Programming has not kept up in quality and the Internet just has more advantages that are attractive to people.

What would happen if Sesame Workshop retired Elmo?

I'm with Jon Stone. If some kids don't want Sesame Street the way it ought to be, then they don't deserve it. ;)

Heh, you'll get no disagreement from me! The Lord of the Rings is the greatest novel of the 20th century (and so far the 21st!) :) Narnia and Potter are also awesome of course. ;)

    2012 Theories

Very true, you can't enjoy life if all you're doing is worrying and dreading. On the other hand, if we value life, we have a responsibility to prepare for the worst.

    Struggling for your art

Yeah that is a difficult decision. Maybe at some point you do want to set a fixed price and just see what comes from that.

    The RHLC!

If you guys hadn't come across this before, this was a tribute written for Richard in Puppetry Magazine in 1992. We talked about it on the thread back in 2007: http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showthread.php?p=484790 (Scroll down) (Sorry for all the [SIZE] stuff, the coverting was difficult, lol)

    Zemekis/Disney To Remake "Yellow Submarine?"

If it's anything like that Beowulf movie, I'm definitely not seeing it. That was an absolute travesty.

My dog and best friend Max, 1994-2009

I'm so sorry about your dog. I do know how it feels, it's hard because pets are so innocent and you hate to see them suffering. But to have to plan the day you'll lose them is even more difficult. I pray for your family in this difficult time, but remember your dog got to have a good life with a...

    Remaking Classic Horror Films

If audiences stopped falling for these remakes every single time, Hollywood might eventually get the hint and realize they're not making them very well! ;)

    Zemekis/Disney To Remake "Yellow Submarine?"

They're not jaded, they're clueless. They want to think they're jaded. ;) Hmm well I kinda understand what you mean. But the Beatles have always had broad appeal. That's why they're considered the greatest rock n roll band of all time and certain "Stones" will always be #2. ;) Yeah but...

    Zemekis/Disney To Remake "Yellow Submarine?"

This is just bizarre, heh. I mean the original Yellow Submarine wasn't perfect, but it had a lot of charm and represents a moment in time in history. Once again we're telling kids none of that matters. And we wonder why kids could care less about anything. Thankfully the original is on DVD...

    Increase in Persons with Moneys

Sesame "Muppet Diplomacy" in the news

The Israel/Palestine conflict is such a blight on this world right now on both sides. Anything that reaches children, that says there's got to be a better way, I'm in favor of. :)
