    Least likeable Sesame character?

Ok to me Barney was always like the Reality Shows, easy to make, not much thought put into it. I read an article online recently that called modern Sesame Street the "lowest common denominator." Meaning you put a bright red puppet (or big purple dinosaur) in front of kids and of course they're...

    Least likeable Sesame character?

What pretty much turns me off is that the new characters are all pretty much the same: bright, cheerful, hyper and eager to learn! I get the impression they'd be afraid to do an episode that really showed characters getting upset with each other (the way the older characters used to). While...

    The New Movie: The Muppets

Well call me crazy but it makes sense for fans to want to see the characters who were responsible for the best years of the franchise. I didn't mean for that to sound as snarky as it did, btw, lol. Just saying. :) As for Muppets Tonight, I only saw one episode and it actually featured a few...

    R.I.P. Tony Geiss (1924-2011)

The link seems to be working now. And I agree with D'Snowth's interpretation. It does say that Tony Geiss was "the voice of Big Bird, Kermit and Elmo" but what they mean is that he was a writer and gave them life. They just should have used a phrase like "gave voice to" rather than "was the voice."

    The New Movie: The Muppets

I don't think they're trying to stagnate the Muppets' creativity. It sounds more like they're trying to channel the original three movies, which were ultimately the most successful (that is basically what Segal said early on). And the idea of a character like Pepe having a cameo isn't so...

A NEW ThunderCats cartoon in 2011!

Wow, I may have to check out Bravestarr at some point, don't know how I missed it! Hehe, regarding Thundercats, this may look like an "end of the episode" PSA moment, but believe it or not this actually took place right in the middle of the episode. Indeed, the very next line is "Lion-O, look...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Oh yeah I know about that incident, that's what I meant, how he was above politics. :) And you're right, there was a lot of expectations that he would be a war hero or political figure to stop the Romans. But Jesus knew there were always going to be regimes like the Romans. The most important...

You know I can see why Jesus didn't want to talk about politics. Why torture ourselves? ;)

The Bible and Love and Christians

I guess I just think too many people were quiet during the Iraq war, you know? It will be interesting indeed, though first I'd want our present two party system overhauled. No matter who is President, it will still be the same system. ;) I know that's very true, he's one of those people...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Another reason the "First Ladies" don't tend to impress me. If they have opinions, they put them aside, again for "their man." ;) That's very true, though at least Clinton was considered something of a "successful" President. Carter criticising a President is kind of funny (not that he didn't...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Well you're right as well, there are some politicans who actually believe the things they say. Amazing, but true. ;) Oh yeah, it is definitely fascinating that his previously die hard supporters have been slowly back away from his views. If only they had done that during the height of the...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Well none of these people in Washington (including President Bush and his cronies) actually have opinions on these topics, they just go where they think the votes are. Cynical, but true. ;)

A NEW ThunderCats cartoon in 2011!

That is pretty bizarre, have those people never heard of PSAs? Not like it's a new phenomenon! Yeah that's another thing, that Thundercats episode I mentioned ends with the standard laughing and everyone saying "It's OK, you weren't responsible." But when you think about it, in real life...

A NEW ThunderCats cartoon in 2011!

Very true, it doesn't matter where you get the knowledge, so long as you get it. ;) There was this one episode of Thundercats where bad guy Mum-Ra gets Tygra addicted to a fruit so he'll steal the Eye of Thundera sword for him. It's a little confusing (and I'm a grown up!), but basically they...

What is up with these DISTURBING commercials, lately?

I'm not sure why you're assuming they're pretending? But I do understand what you mean about showing kids an addict in action. The problem is finding an addict with insight, heh. Don't get me wrong, there are addicts who will tell you they screwed up, but there are also a lot who don't have a...

A NEW ThunderCats cartoon in 2011!

Yeah you're definitely right. Like there was this one episode a lot of people talk about because it was kinda disturbing. Snarf finds a bracelet that makes everyone around him obey his wishes. For awhile he goes all mad with power, until Mum-Ra gets hold of it and enslaves the Thundercats. Snarf...
