What do you know about dreams?

I'd personally go with the evil vegetables theory.

    Least likeable Sesame character?

I don't mind the original puppets looking simplistic. A puppet isn't a doll for display, it's an interactive instrument. The look of a puppet is only half the work; the other half is the performance. A puppet looking too complex might distract from the performance.

What are your thoughts on Facebook?

I agree. However I also think it's in Facebook's interest to break our privacy rather than keep it.

What are your thoughts on Facebook?

See it's that kind of thing that some people are annoyed about regarding Facebook. It takes far too many liberties with people's information. Someone in one of my classes talked about how Facebook announced what movies she had just bought tickets for because she used an online service. What's...

    Oscars!

I'm not that into the Oscars, but it would be great to see Colin Firth and anyone who worked on The King's Speech win. :)

What do you know about dreams?

Unbelievable, it happened again! I had a really good time last night, hung out with friends, watch a couple of movies. And sure enough, I had one of the worst nightmares I've had in a long time! And it involved the Muppets too! Do I honestly have to have a lousy night in order to have good...

This Frog vs. My Pollywog Ways

If they did that, I'd direct my kids to the Web for the original version. ;)

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

I can just imagine this guy watching Follow That Bird in the theater: "That's it, Big Bird! Stick it to those loser Dodos!" :wisdom: :insatiable:

This Frog vs. My Pollywog Ways

Having watched that sketch again, I do think it's possible there was originally more to the beginning. It's very random the way it is now, lol.

    "Into The Night" on YouTube

Lol, that's awesome! Ah, there's nothing quite like an '80s film, lol.

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

It also reminds me of one of those sports parents who just keeps drilling "Win, win, win!" into their kids' heads, lol. Of course we'll never get his side of the story. His intentions were probably good but, yeah, there are worse things to worry about than a cartoon bird, lol. Though...

This Frog vs. My Pollywog Ways

I'm going with "My Polliwog Ways" because I remember them showing the sketch all the time when I was a kid. Plus it's probably how I learned about frogs being tadpoles and all. I remember being scared of the pictures of Kermit "evolving" into a frog. Though today I'm not sure why, lol.

What do you know about dreams?

I mentioned this briefly in another thread, I've always had a really odd pattern with dreams. If I have a really good day, like a birthday, where everything went really well, it's almost guaranteed I'll have a nightmare that night. And it's always a really brutal one too! Or like sometimes I'll...

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

Yeah you're probably right, lol. Well thank goodness he rescued his kids from the evil Dodo! :wisdom: :concern: I do think there are a lot of things human beings naturally do very well, such as tell a story, whether for a message or just for pleasure. Of course some people are more talented...

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

Yeah I know I don't think it occured to me that he was a vampire until I was a grown up, lol. I heard a very bizarre true story once. This apparently really happened. There was a group of parents who were asked their thoughts on a potential radio program for children with a Dodo Bird as the...

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

Yeah I remember Todd, he was really popular. I think they did a good job making his character's journey a complex one, and not too contrived or objectionable. Maybe it wasn't realistic, but again, I don't think it's always a story's job to be realistic, but just to get an important message about...

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

But does that desperation come from buying into the "happy ending fairy tale" we're taught?
