The Muppets Should Host the 2012 Oscars

Personally I loved Billy Crystal hosted the Oscars, lol. And I liked that Ricky Gervais ruffled some feathers at The Golden Globes. The Hollywood crowd can dish it but they can't take it, it seems. ;) As for the Muppets hosting, years ago I would have loved the idea. Nowadays, I just don't...

*Sigh* It's That Time of the Decade Again...

Most people don't think that far unless it's pointed out to them. Not insulting, it's true of everyone. ;)

The Bible and Love and Christians

Lol, exactly that's what I like about it, it's very human and honest. It's not a person attempting to seem all pious and perfect; it's a person admitting their weaknesses. "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled. And whoever humbles himself shall be exalted." (Matthew 23:12) ;) Well the "pick...

    The RHLC!

People who were here in the early days of the thread might remember our discussion about Kermit and Scooter's appearance at the 1986 Academy Awards. Just wanted to let you guys know that the clip has just been posted on the Classic Muppets thread here. Enjoy! :) ;)

The Bible and Love and Christians

Say, does anyone remember that 1985 film Ladyhawke? A sort of humorous Fantasy film starring Matthew Broderick as a sort of impish pickpocket who teams up with a knight type guy called Navarre and also a mysterious woman played by Michelle Pfeiffer? I always had vague memories of seeing it as a...

Why people dislike modern Sesame Street

I know and that's fine; that's your opinion. I just don't agree. Not trying to be rude, just explaining. :)

Predictable doesn't necessarily mean educational. Neither does good ratings. ;)

    Your Favorite Romantic Muppet Moment

I remember everytime I used to have a wedding scene with my Barbie and Ken dolls, I always had them singing "He'll/She'll Make me Happy." Lol, it's just the perfect wedding song. :)

Why do School Choirs Always sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"?

Honestly I don't recall mine every singing that, lol. Though I did sing it for a talent show in 5th grade! But I suppose it might be a frequent choice because it's a song most kids are familiar with and will have heard many times.

Can Sesame Street go to Congress?

"It ain't no mystery, if it's politics or history, the thing you gotta know is, everything is show biz." ;) A lot of this is purely for show on the part of the Republicans. They make a big deal of trying to pass a bill, knowing full well it will never go through (again, the Democrats in the...

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

I honestly can't even analyze the prequels very much with a straight face. I refuse to give them that kind of dignity, hehe. The original Star Wars films said a lot with very little. The prequels had a lot but said nothing. Just my opinion. ;)

Redeeming Villains in Stories - Right or Wrong?

Star Wars is truly one of the most moving and effecitve redemption stories in film history. And it doesn't feel forced, despite their only being three movies (Well technically the last two since that's where we really get to know Vadar's backstory). Also considering we almost never see the...

Can Sesame Street go to Congress?

Still don't they also need the support of the left in Congress to get something like this passed? I'm not an expert so correct me if I'm mistaken. (And not that I'm supporting either group frankly, heh).

What are your thoughts on Facebook?

Oh yeah totally, and it's OK I don't feel picked on, hehe. I agree that people are the ones who need to be careful with their own information. I just question Facebook's tactics, that's all. :)

What are your thoughts on Facebook?

Personally I have better things to do with my life than learn Facebook's little rules just so my own privacy is kept. They're making all the rules and I don't like it. That's why I won't sign up.
