Um sorry, but I think you're misinterpreting the stories. He goes out of his way to talk to them like they were regular people, which was shocking to his followers.
The fact that she's a "Samaritan or whatever" is very important. They were considered the enemy. And men didn't just go up to...
Well I won't withhold mine, hehe. I went to a Christian school. I got a good education. I was taught about World Religions, sex education and evolution. Even when to question the Bible. Uniforms prevented us from knowing who had money and who didn't. I am grateful for these things.
Not that it...
I know what you're saying. In real life, life goes on after marriage. And sometimes it is good for TV shows to get that across in a realistic, gritty way. But fictional characters aren't like real people. They exist to service a story. And if that particular story is a classic "Will they or...
Well the thing is, Ma and Pa Gorg started out as a married couple; it was integral to their characters from the beginning. But often on TV shows when a couple finally gets married, the story becomes less exciting because basically you've reached the climax the show has been reaching for all this...
It's not so much we think we have to please God. It's more that we feel that Jesus' main concern was the kind of people we are to others. That when he said to accept him, he meant to follow his example as a compassionate human being. He doesn't want us to worship him simply because he is God...
Many Christians disagree on the issue of grace vs. good works. That's what we're running into here, that's all. : )
I always say, there's nothing wrong with talking. This is America and you're allowed to speak your mind even if I disagree with some things. And ultimately I find people's...
I'll say this:
If I thought God only accepted those who accepted him, then I wouldn't accept him.
Thankfully, I don't believe that to be the case. ;)
I hope that made sense, lol.
Well I definitely agree that some fans can get ridiculously nitpicky about irrelevant things. But then there are other times when redesigns really do reflect a misunderstanding of the characters. So it's a tricky thing, lol.
To paraphrase something I once read:
"There's no such thing as an old show if you haven't seen it before." ;)
But I'll admit I've occasionally been wrong about newer shows. There are still some decent ones around; it's just that the trust isn't there anymore, lol.
The thing that bothers me is that it's more acceptable in our society to like new things. If you prefer old things, you're automatically clueless, regardless of the quality of the content.
Um, don't assume, lol. I wasn't that into Tiny Toons actually. I thought Animaniacs captured the LT spirit much better.
They tended to have better shows; I'd want to live there too, lol.
Fans are not required to like cartoon remakes, heh.
I didn't get into the Rugrats as teenagers; it didn't have the multi layered humor of the original series. I didn't get Ren & Stimpy at the time, but I do respect it more now for thinking out of the box (waaaaaay out of the box, lol).
They really do need more movies that have the main character single in the end and that's OK, lol. Or at least not the end of the world. Like that old '60s movie Alfie, it's good that he's left alone in the end because it allows him to rethink his playboy lifestyle.
And yeah I agree, you need...
Yeah that show rubbed me the wrong way too. The kids were always bragging about how great and talented they were. Why would I want to watch that? Lol
As far as Nick cartoons, I watched a ton of Doug and Rugrats (before they both jumped the shark, hehe). Occasionally Rocko's Modern Life (really...
Right, it can happen to anyone. I just don't like anyone, gay or straight, saying "society or my family made me do it!" We all have to take responsibility for our own actions.
I know what it's like to feel unforgiving pressure to conform. But I don't complain that I was "forced" to do something. No one forces me to do anything I don't want to do. And in this day and age and in this country, no one can force you to marry. There are many homosexuals who choose not to...
