The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Thread!

According to the book Charles M. Schultz: Conversations, it was a term animator Bill Melendez made up to describe animation. Unrelated but the word "blandishment" actually means "something, as an action or speech, that tends to flatter, coax, entice."

    The Writing Process

I actually just wrote a Blog entry on soothing songs I listen to during Writer's Block, which I will shamelessly plug here, lol: http://herald7.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/my-top-7-soothing-songs-for-writers-block/

In the spirit of Halloween - your favorite movies to watch this time of year!

No prob, my Dad has it on tape so I'm very familiar, hehe. I've learned about most classic horror movies from my Dad, including the Hammer horror films which are occasionally shown on TCM. They're definitely in a class by themselves, lol. I only knew Peter Cushing as the bad guy from Star Wars...

Cartoon all stars to the rescue.

Lol, very true. For me the best anti drug shows still came from Thundercats, both involving Tygra, he just seemed to have an addictive personality for some reason, lol. They talked about how addicts can put their friends' lives in danger just to get another fix. And how you can think a drug is...

The Nostalgia Critic Thread Lives Again!

OK I just wanted to be fair and say this week I did enjoy Nostalgia Critic's review. I think "Ask me what it means! Ask me what it means!" has become my new favorite quote, lol.

Cartoon all stars to the rescue.

I actually didn't see it on TV, but rather our teacher showed it to us in school in 2nd or 3rd grade. We were always watching educational videos about one thing or another. Anti drugs or anti smoking, saving the planet, safety at the train tracks, and of course cartoon versions of Bible stories...

I love Gonzo but I agree, the whole chemistry of the characters was thrown off after Jim passed away.

Your favorite TV shows of all time

Ah OK, well let's see: 1. Psych 2. Law & Order (the original) 3. Ancient Aliens (just kidding, lol) 4. Greatest American Hero, a satirical show from the '80s about a super hero, very funny (and that's where my avatar is from, hehe)

Cartoon all stars to the rescue.

When you think about it, it was pretty absurd to use the "drugs will kill you" argument because it's a rational one. And addicts are not in their rational minds when it comes to their obsession. Actually I feel like PSAs should have been a bit more focused on the friends and family of addicts...

ABC News Video: Jason Segel, Muppet Savior

I'll be honest guys, my biggest concern isn't the merchandise. It's all made in China anyway, heh. I'm just concentrating on picking a day to see the movie with my fellow Muppet-fan friend. (Yes I am going, lol).

Cartoon all stars to the rescue.

Lol, it's easy to make fun of this special, but I actually liked its message. I liked how the characters point out that everyone has problems, that's not an excuse to take the easy way out with drugs. You don't typically see that in PSAs. They usually concentrate on how drugs will kill you...

I understand what you mean, I've worried about that stuff before. But I think most companies are aware (or at least they should be) that people are changing their spending habits nowadays with the recession.

What in the world became of Tom and Jerry?

Yeah some people use the anonymity of the Internet to say nasty things. Others are just trolls who like to get reactions from people.
