Some questions on The Muppet Movie

The 6th episode is technically where he first gets hired but actually he was in the first few episodes before that. So sometimes it pays to give up on canon before you drive yourself crazy, lol. ;)

    Bringing you the Truth...

The US isn't innocent. But as far as human rights, the Middle East wouldn't be any more innocent if we weren't there.

    Muppets From Space

Well it was never just a running gag for me. It was an essential part of Gonzo being inspirational for anyone odd or outside the norm. There was much more character development there than there ever was when they just labeled him an "alien." It was too obvious and flat and tried to explain...

The Muppets is Brainwashing Our Kids

Yup I saw that. I have to admit, I was almost positive someone was going to complain about the Moopets for this reason. I don't think that was the filmmakers' intentions at all. But I did figure it would be fodder for people who look for these things.

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

I know this is Sesame Street, but I always tear up when Bert gives his paperclip collection to Mr. Hooper and then asks, "Do you think maybe I could...come and visit my paper cli...cli....nevermind...:: sigh ::..." That was just so beautifully sad.

    The 10 Worst Muppets?

Exactly, never mind kids, I wouldn't even show it to my adult friends, lol. The funny thing is as risque as that episode probably was back then, it comes across pretty tame now, lol. :o Yup, it's called multi layered writing. ;)

    The 10 Worst Muppets?

And I know some people try to say, "Well it's an alternate universe; it's supposed to be disturbing." But the thing is, if they'd done the same story line in the '70s or '80s they would have made it disturbing and thought provoking. Not disturbing and...yeah just disturbing!

    The 10 Worst Muppets?

Exactly. I have absolutely no problem with the Muppets doing adult humor. But, heh, that special had ZERO adult humor in it. It was immature, cheap, childish, mean spirited non humor! And yeah for a long time (after the nightmare especially, heh) I was really depressed thinking there was just...

    The 10 Worst Muppets?

Believe me I understand. That special actually gave me nightmares. Not about that scene specifically, just in general. I don't even want to get into it, but it left me quite traumatized the next morning...:concern:

    The 10 Worst Muppets?

I've found that Pepe can be funny as long as he's given actual jokes as opposed to the tasteless stuff he's often saddled with.

    Bringing you the Truth...

People truly don't realize the level of hatred the Middle East has towards women. And frankly, it's attitudes like that that assure them their continued place in poverty and outside the modern world.

What would it take for you to stop watching current episodes?

Frankly I'm skeptical that that's even happened. I think the show has convinced itself that that's what its audience wants.

Sesame Workshop Trying To Have It Both Ways(Bert/Ernie issue)

See that's where I feel like Jesus is being molded into the Greek gods image. Thinking that the important thing is to worship an all powerful GOD, rather than being compassionate to others. Jesus does not have that kind of ego. ;) But it DOES mean that God is not impressed with your efforts to...

Sesame Workshop Trying To Have It Both Ways(Bert/Ernie issue)

"Judge not, lest you be judged." "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye" "Let the one among you who is without sin caste the first stone." But again how does my being attracted to a man make me a good person?

    Muppet Family Christmas

I found a copy at my library's VHS sale. Will have to check it out sometime this month. I still remember watching it with my family when it first aired. :)

"The Muppets" What were you half expecting

Lol actually that sounds like one of those classic Sesame Street sketches with the Muppets are trying to get the kids to focus, lol.

We may never know now but I do think it's at least a possibility that Jackson was just naive, as oppose to criminal. Accusations don't automatically equal guilt and neither does court settlements.
