Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Well I mean in recent years, Rizzo has been up front a lot of the time. For me, the newer Muppets have largely had two decades to themselves and it's OK to give the classic characters a chance again. :)
I was just thinking the other day of a character that kind of reminded me of Scooter. The 1982 film My Favorite Year about the makings of a comedy TV show in the 1950s. The main character is a young junior writer on the team who is given all the unglamorous jobs like bringing the coffee and...
I was actually thinking the other day, ever notice how we often say "tuna fish?" It's weird when you think about it. I mean isn't that understood? After all we don't say "salmon fish" or "trout fish." Hehe
I agree; I didn't get that vibe from the movie at all.
Exactly, if I hadn't known the back story, that's how I would have interpreted it too.
Yeah sometimes it's more dramatically effective to refer to a past moment, rather than show that moment.
That show I actually liked because it was so character driven. Each character had a specific comedic note to play, you anticipated it, and it always delivered. It's simple but effective. :)
Yeah the biggest lie in the movie industry is that CGI looks more realistic. It doesn't, lol. At least not by itself. I think Gollum was a successful blend of human performance with the help of CGI.
Oh yeah I forgot Christopher Lee! OK, he's the other best thing about those cinematic mistakes, lol. Even though he's basically playing Saruman in space, hehe...Seriously, same exact purpose in the story, lol.
"Join me Obi Wan...I mean uh Gandalf!...I mean..."
This is a tiny thing but I don't think Camilla needed subtitles, lol. They could have done it differently and still be effective, plus a little kid in the audience kept asking his Mom, "What did the chicken say?" Lol
Ahh, I'm so happy! Nostalgia Critic just started Star Trek month with a review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. And he is spot on about everything that's wrong with it, lol.

I'll half agree. I don't like him when he's the Emperor in the original Star Wars. But I did like him in the prequels as Palpatine, probably because he was the best thing in those cinematic mistakes, hehe. ;)
As a bottle fed kid, I was confused for it two seconds but I got over it! Lol. Being confused is part of learning and there's nothing wrong with that. That's WHY you are taught things so you won't be confused anymore. It's kind of funny how terrified we are of "confusing" children as if their...
I definitely enjoyed the movie a lot too. But if I was going to tweet a couple of things:
Just in general more funny moments with the Muppets and less exposition.
The Electric Mayhem should have at least one song.
Some '70s reference because The Muppet Show was more of a '70s phenomenon, not...
Aw thank you. :) Yeah last night was just weird. I didn't even think I was really upset about anything but somehow I ended up getting really freaked out in general and just couldn't get to sleep. But I guess I was just nervous about a lot of things going on in life right now. But yeah it did get...
