Well a TV show might improve its chances with more episodes. The movie isn't likely to change what it is once it's released (that's what test audiences are for I suppose).
Exactly, that's how it feels. A scene with a similar issue was nephew Fred's dinner party. I don't care about these actors (again, except Michael Caine ;)), I just want to see the Muppets, lol.
Yeah we're on the same page. I did try watching MCC as a kid but just didn't connect with it. I think some of the songs are very good and I enjoy Michael Caine in nearly everything he does but the movie as a whole just doesn't feel like a Muppet movie for me. It was trying to force the Muppets...
Yeah that line needs to be banned from action TV and movies for a few years, lol.
I guess that's why I liked the 87 cartoon, it was more of a send up of action cartoons cliches.
I admit I did stop watching early. I did try watching one of their darker episodes later on and while I admired them for having some gutsy story lines, the dialogue still felt very juvenile, at least for me.
Absolutely they always seemed like snarky 20 year olds in 87 rather than teenagers...
