Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

Not in my house, lol. Though I would like to see the stage version they do at Madison Square Garden; that looked half way decent.

Bits you'd like to see re-done for today's show

Well again, you assume it's easy as pie to recreate a good sketch. If it was that easy, those sketches wouldn't be worth much at all. There's nothing wrong with the original sketches and I refuse to let planned obsolesent technology tell me otherwise. I don't like parents sending the message...

Bits you'd like to see re-done for today's show

I see no problem showing kids the originals on DVD or online. ;) People act like it's so easy to recreate magic. It's not. That's why it's special.

Who has a Deviant Art account?

Well I finally did bite the bullet a couple months ago and start a DA account. Recently wrote my first Transformers related essay, hehe: http://heralde8.deviantart.com/art/Starscream-s-Redemption-s-Part-I-Fire-in-the-Sky-353323516

Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

True, I was surprised that they added a new villain when they basically already had one built in. I guess that's a result of padding, as DrTooth said. Btw, I did see the beginning of the film, so I wasn't lying or anything when I said I haven't seen the film, lol. Just to clarify that. ;)

Everyone who knew me at that time knew how furious I was about that, lol.

Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

That was brilliant and it's something you almost never see in children's entertainment. A moral issue that's left up in the air with no clear resolution. In theory that was definitely a clever idea, attacking big business and advertising. The movie had good ideas, I just couldn't identify...

Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

Oh I'm not saying it wasn't like that in the new movie. I'm just saying that it annoys me when the creators of these newer films put down the originals and act like they had to "fix" things. The original didn't need to spell the internal conflict out, or put the blame on a different character...

Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

That's funny because I never considered the original Once-ler a monster. In fact I was moved by his original characterization because you could tell he truly loved the Trufula trees despite his greed. And this is why I will never be a fan of the newer Seuss movies, lol. The things that they...

Watched The Muppet Movie and noticing a lot of new stuff...

Yeah it was a valiant try, Beau, but the Muppets aren't going to let us be logical, hehe.

    When Did Remakes Go Bad?

Oh me too definitely, I enjoyed that part. The movie had a lot of great ideas but desperately needed an editor to focus on one of them and follow through with that one idea.

Another Movie remake of the Grinch... really?

I think if they wanted to have those themes in an original story I wouldn't have minded. But the depiction of the Who's was just plain insulting to Dr. Seuss' original story. Hollywood needs to get its own ideas and not deface other people's, lol.

    When Did Remakes Go Bad?

The Brady Bunch movies aren't remakes. They are closer to satirical parodies. The Adams Family movies are closer to remakes and one of the few franchises to do it well. As other fans have said, they took a good idea and made it ten times richer. :) For me personally, Bewitched was the moment...
