Now what's going on with YouTube?

Because it's not about making the comments easier, it's about tricking people into giving away their personal info to Google. :p

Now what's going on with YouTube?

I enjoy the comments on YouTube but it's true that when the comments sections on any website aren't moderated, they just become cesspools of trolls and bullies. Utterly devoid of redeeming value.

Singer: Jim Henson vs Steve Whitmire

Steve probably has the better technical voice and I give him a ton of credit, but I prefer Kermit and Ernie as sung by Jim. :)

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Yes it's too early but I'm one of the few people who doesn't mind, lol.

    When you need to rant...

I often wonder what can be done about bullying. You're never going to get rid of it entirely. Again, sometimes the only thing you can do is get out of the situation (go to a different website, go to another school, etc.). When I was being bullied as a child, one thing that sticks out to me was...

    When you need to rant...

Other people have told me that. It's just hard for me to identify with such a concept because my entire class was filled with bullies who had no problem doing any of this stuff. I wish I knew people who were afraid to act that way in real life, but sadly I knew all the brave ones, heh. Plus in...

    When you need to rant...

Most Internet trolls are the spitting image of the bullies in my grammar/middle school. Fools who laugh and delight in their ignorance, naturally at the expense of others. They existed long before the Internet. The Internet just gave them legs.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

The point is, ultimately for a lot of people art is more important than the artist.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Actually my atheist friend really enjoyed Ender's Game (though he liked the book more as a Sci Fi fan). He doesn't care who the author is, he just likes the story. Heck, Salinger wasn't exactly stable but I still read Catcher in the Rye, lol.

    The Laugh Track Thread

Incidentally that also happens in Broadway shows when a celebrity enters from stage left (or right, whatever the case may be). I hate when the actor distracts from the story like that. It's even more annoying when there's an understudy that night and you can see the actor hitting the marks as if...

    The Laugh Track Thread

I don't watch a ton of TV anymore but I can believe it. The only thing that ever really bugged me about laugh tracks (and this can happen with live audiences as well) is that pretentious, overblown applause when a character leaves a scene after doing something supposedly hilarious.

    The Laugh Track Thread

I have to admit laugh tracks have always just been background noise to me. It never bothered me, it's just there and it's normal, almost like an additional character in the story. It's almost akin to a Greek chorus, commenting on what's going on.

    The Laugh Track Thread

I'm not sure if this came up yet but I've heard that some laugh tracks had been recycled from years before, which sometimes included the laugh of Desi Arnaz. Is there any truth to that?

What is your least favorite Muppet Movie?

I'm going to confess I didn't think MT was funny and I wasn't surprised when it didn't last long. I'm sure people watched it for awhile because they trusted the Muppet name. Jim Henson Hour had some funny and even touching moments but it reminds me of Labyrinth where you weren't sure what...

I went to a Comedy Central taping once and they told us before hand to laugh and act like we're having fun...even if the jokes weren't funny, lol. :o

The Dance Teacher that Made the kids do it again because he didn't like it...

The editing is a little rough at the end (love your comment on the zoo films, lol). I guess the policeman comment is just to show that little boys can take dance classes and still be all tough and macho.

Oh definitely. Still I find when sarcastic people try too hard to sound nice, it just sounds forced, lol.
