Well the clip was fine, nothing offensive anyway. It suddenly hit me how much of an Elton John wanna be Gaga is, lol. If I was going to nitpick at all, the Muppets felt a little, I don't know, a little too in awe of Gaga, like they were children or something. But it was still sort of intriguing...
The first time I ever heard that song was on Pandora. I think I'd done a search for '60s songs. I really enjoyed it. But yeah for some reason it's kinda obsure now.
See I said that to my parents and they told me they remembered the song becoming famous when a woman sang it to a man, which has a different meaning. Might be a double standard but there you go, lol.
What's interesting is the two Three's Company spin offs were so disastrous, yet the equivalent British spin offs are still fondly remembered from what I've read. You just never know.
I never said otherwise. My ancestors came through Ellis Island, not the Mayflower. Not Guilty. :)
What I'm saying is, how is completely removing the Native Americans from the holiday an improvement? For better or worse Thanksgiving was one of the few times we got to hear about Native American...
Yeah I get you. Thanksgiving's just going through an identity crisis right now. We don't want to offend Native Americans, so of course we completely remove them from the merchandise so only the white people remain...yeah much less offensive. :p
I really have no patience for the "it's too early" complaints. There are enough months when the world is drab and boring, thanks. If I can see Christmas lights a little earlier in my life, I'm happy.
I would categorically deny that Christmas has "lost" its meaning. People may be a bit rushed or even shallow about it at times, but Christmas is nowhere near as corrupted as St. Patrick's Day or St. Valentine's Day.
I honestly could care less about when it actually happened. It's a holiday, the meaning is what's most important. It's a huge deal because it's a deity choosing to be a humble human being, rather than a king.
I went to a religious school but prayer didn't stop my school from becoming a haven...
I always say, Linus tried to warn us in 1965 and we didn't listen. Christians had a responsibility to keep the spiritual meaning of Christmas alive and they allowed the commercialism to become more important. When I hear someone praising Wal-Mart for having nativity scene coupons, it disgusts...
I am realizing nowadays other countries get to enjoy our shows even more than we do! I mean it's great, at least we have the Internet and we can share things. But it's annoying how flavor of the moment American can be.
