    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

I love Nightmare and Scissorhands too. I tapped into that innocent and misunderstood place Edward came from. I guess either you either connect with it or you don't, but it fared well for a niche film and is still fondly remembered 20 years later. But I knew several people who didn't care for it...

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

I see a lot of directors out there who have run out of stories to tell so they either remake something old, follow new technology or both. Visionaries like Tim Burton end up remaking pieces with striking visuals but no heart. I wish he'd revisit his Edward Scissorhands days and that Zemekis...

eFX Collectibles to produce Muppet Replicas

My personal experience has been quite different in the area of customer service and I'm not alone, but I'm sure the more avid EFX forum members enjoy their experience over there. As stated, they only need the Star Wars license and talented artists to make the replicas for them to do okay...

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

I apologize if any of my comments were taken personally and this is was intended as an honest discussion. I guess ImageMovers hit a nerve with Polar Express. Man, did that movie rub me the wrong way in just about every area of its execution. There is one long sweeping shot with an owl that I...

The Bible and Love and Christians

I'll cite an example. Former Speaker and likely 2012 Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was raised by an unwed teenage mother for much of his life. He's had three marriages and two divorces that were caused by his wild infidelities. Somehow his narcissism renders him exempt from his rules...

eFX Collectibles to produce Muppet Replicas

I found that chain that MR's Animal was supposed to come with - EFX has been yanking it all along! It appears their business plan was to hype this nonexistent product into being. Many companies do that, but EFX had begun talking accessories and leading us to believe these items were months away...

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

Exactly. He's not much of a voice artist. Jim physically in a Horton costume would be the draw, not his voice - - but we've learned not to do that from Mike Meyer's terrible Cat in the Hat. I do like Horton's animation.

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

That was supposed to be "the" version, but apparently they fell short. And why mo-cap Jim Carrey of all people? His face is rubbery enough.

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

From what I've been hearing, this is the last film from now defunct ImageMovers. They're dumping it at the theater to try to recoup some of the bloated budget. I suppose Zemekis saw the writing on the wall with last Christmas' film and the higher quality of Avatar's motion capture method. I will...

    Disney's Motion Capture Animation

Mars might need Moms, but who needs this zombified, expressionless motion capture from executive producer Rober Zemekis' "Polar Express" crew? I'm hoping this slipped through the cracks and trust Lasseter doesn't want much to do with this monstrosity from Disney Animation next year. Pixar...

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Exactly right. As it should be. The only reported time Jim Henson ever lost his temper was when Eisner kept bringing up Big Bird! Sesame belongs to the world's children. However, one thing I always wanted to see was a Fraggle Rock ride at Disneyland. Just imagine! But I doubt Henson will...

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Eisner did bring the Disney Company back from the ledge in the 80's, but later proved to be its greatest liability. He did initiate the Muppet deal in the first place, but was also the reason it became sour even before Jim's death. Eisner is the reason Disney lost the Muppets, lost Katzenberg to...

This is probably why we didn't have comic news

I like what Roger and most of the other artists did with the Muppet comics, but I also think there are plenty of talented people out there who can rise to the occasion. We've seen the great work these people have contributed and more of the same would be nice, but I'd like to see more from...

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Dude...this movie is getting made. This movie is definitely getting made and is on schedule for next Christmas. I don't understand the pessimism with this one particular great thing that's actually been going right! I'll put on my wet blanket for a minute and say the worst that could happen...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Nobody's landed. A preemptive strike is unnecessary. There's a balance to be maintained and I feel the maturity of this thread so far bears witness to that. This thread has been up for over a week and it hasn't caused un-necessary flames. I trust your concern is genuine and not an attempt to...

I'm still offended that Oscar was barely in a movie about Grouchland!

This is probably why we didn't have comic news

The Muppet comics are great, but they kind of started over-loading them. There were so many titles out at one time that maybe it's time for a rest. Landgridge did hint that Disney felt much of the payment for the Muppets was in "exposure" which means in artist speak -- they don't pay that...
