Anyone notice the parallels with the bad stuff Russia's been doing and how Russia is portrayed in this film?
Regarding what James said, In a world where it's all about vfx heavy pg-13 comic book movies and braindead cg films, I'm just happy there is any kind of audience for Kermit and company...
Europeans definitely seem overall smarter than Americans(and I'm American!), and The Muppets appeals to smart people...while I hate to say, increasingly Pixar(and especially Dreamworks and all other cg cartoon companies) seem to be appealing to the more not so discerning masses. The 2011 plot of...
Society lacks imagination. After a decade of ever increasing braindead and garishly unimaginative(and quite mindless) computer generated films catering to ADD kids...it's hard to imagine society fully embracing the Muppets ORGANIC, heart warming, smart humor. Smart kids will be drawn to the...
Anyone wish that they had used Joe the Armadillo for the armadillo joke?
Also that scene of Beau as the conducter sticking his head out...so amazing and cinematic. Also who else got a big thrill from the Seventh Seal spoof?
I see nothing wrong with this. That perception will never change...
Regarding the possible low opening weekend numbers(and the fact I definitely see way more families and parents and kids reaching for Pixar merch at disney stores)...I think society has coddled and nullified kids and people in general with all this CG saturation
Oh wow! Wow...that would have...
Hugga Wugga! That's the yellow creature in the disco scene, thanks! And how COULD I FORGET THE BEST PART??? The Spanish recreation of the Muppet theme show opening. BRILLIANT!(thanks slackbot for reminding me)
Loved how bizarre and odd it was when Constantine fainted.
My goodness...my goodness. Where do I even begin to write a review? I left the movie feeling shocked at how GOOD this was. I sitll have goosebumps thinking about it.
While I felt the 2011 film felt all over the map, overly sappy, wayyy too liberal with the 4th wall stuff, and cringed every time...
So uh...did us older folks who saw Muppet Movie and Muppets Take Manhattan or the 1987 special Muppet Family Christmas get confused when we saw Sesame characters in Muppet productions?
Mass. must be a whole different world as I saw a glut of Croods and Turbo merchandise here in California. I kind of liked Turbo, despite the terrible last act. However the only cg cartoon films I feel elevated the cinematic arts in the last 5 years were Up and Rango.
But no, I definitely would...
This is good news. Honestly, do we even need Elmo when Murray Monster is way more fun, aesthetically pleasing, INTELLIGENT, engaging, adventurous and just all around a better character? Elmo continues to be the Jar Jar of the Muppet world.
I wish Elmo had been retired a long time ago, but ever since the 1996 Xmas holiday retail season, Sesame Workshop seems him as the golden goose. Which, I don't blame them...my issue is that the annoying furball has long swallowed up so much of the spotlight and time.
If the horrible Clash...
European countries have traditionally gotten all the cool Muppet merchandise. Especially in recent years. Anyways I guess there's no use complaining...same argument we've brought up for years now. /shrug
I see a ton of indie produced figures by the buttload at record stores, comic shops and even Toys R Us. What bugs me is you have all these dinky shrimpy GI Joe sized figures for $10-$12, but for a gargantuan figure its only a few bucks more. Again, makes no sense. I could give a crap about Star...
I still don't get it...it's almost like when Germany was divided into East and West Germany. Why can't Sesame Street characters cameo in new Muppet films? For all this talk of "bringing the Muppet films back to the old school", there missing one of the most charming fun aspects: SESAME CAMEOS...
I cannot sing the praises enough of the Disney Muppet Star Wars action figures(despite the price points), but I don't get why they not just stopped the line...but, why they aren't making a regular TMS or Muppets Most Wanted line in that same scale? We got a lot of figures in the Palisades line...
I don't get it. Didnt they sell well? To me these are some of the best muppet figures ever...a crying shame they didnt make posable figures in this style for the new movie. Ugh...
Come to think of it, and I hate to be that person, but this time around it feels like there should be way more merch. Disney is spending gazillions of dollars to promote, almost on a Cars like level...but they still lack confidence in saturating the market at all with merchandise. They still...
These are literally some of the most VISIONARY things Ive ever seen from the Muppets, least in the last couple decades. Wow.
and cant wait for them to do more of these:)
Yeah I'd say Disney is doing everything right...but they do need to release more dvds(season 4/5, Muppets Tonight, etc)
Round up of all the Super Bowl tv skits as well as the online exclusive content. And boy is there a lot of new material. I mean a new Electric Mayhem music video/song? Wowzas.
