THE # 1 COMEDY THIS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!
All of these reviews might not be compete raves, but they all were positive and lent some nice words to the Muppets. This is what's been said so far:
“An unexpected treat!”
Justin Chang – Variety
“A warm and fuzzy comeback!”
Linda Barnard – Toronto Star
"You can't go wrong with this one!"...

Thursday's Live program showed a reel of celebs interviewed on the program who had since passed. Everyone from Anna Nicole to Sammy Davis Jr. was featured in this long montage as Josh Grobin sung a ballad. If I recall, Jim Henson gave Live on of his final interviews in 1990. Is there any reason...
Thanks Cory. I know what you meant. Just been edgy lately trying to juggle two jobs and this terrible cold. While I adore the Neca style detail in figures it often makes a figure either too precious or too clunky for quality play value. My dream series would be to have Star Wars sized carded...
Yes, referring to the detail of the figures a lot of people (including myself) worked very hard on as ugly or misshapen is most definitely an insult. I know you favor more cartoony representations of things and that's okay too, but nothing Palisades did was "grotesque" in any way. McFarlane is...
I think there's definitely a market for simplified, smoother pvc toys or ones with limited detail and articulation, but I don't agree with your choice of words. Adjective trouble. I'm hoping that you misspoke when you referred to Palisades' stunning work as "grotesque" (i.e. odd, unnatural in...
Hey, I really take issue with your description of calling the figures "grotesquely" detailed! A very poor choice of words. Other than that, i can pretty much agree with what you've said.
In the end, none of that really mattered as much as we all think it did. The Muppets line of figures was inherently limited due to the consumers' lack of interest in the characters and that was largely the result of the lack of film and television appearances. VMX may have helped a little bit...
Even the Henson Company bean counters knew that Muppet merchandise works best when backed by a popular project. People misunderstand Palisades. While the figures were fantastic, critically acclaimed and popular in a lot of circles, the profits couldn't sustain the series. This of course has no...
I don't really think that anyone knew how the film would turn out and products take a long time to develop and license. Disney arranges for some items to be made in their stores, but the rest have to be licensed and that means companies have got to want to make them. There really hasn't been a...
I still don't see what the big concern is. My guess is what you really think this push lacks is figures and I'll agree with that. More stuff will come. We don't need to have everything right now. And I'm sure there will be lots of tie-ins when the DVD comes out. You're talking like this is just...
All i've heard the wonderful "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and the out-of place and underwhelming "Me Party". MC radio is always buggy for me. A hit-or-miss thing even though i follow all the instructions 100%. Sigh. It's caused me to miss "Pictures in my Head" on several occasions. :(
You know, I could easily see Alvarez' design repeated in a design for Muppet wrapping paper. I second Tooth's remark! :)
Edit: By the way, wasn't there supposed to be up-to-$3000 in cash for prizes? I guess the 3x larger number was used to draw people in. I mean, $1000 is very generous, but...
Congratulations to the 5 selections of the Mighty Fine Muppets Tee Contest!
While I agree with some of the selections (and all of them are attractive) I definitely think Kenny's, Dave's or Patrick's should have placed in the top spot because they are actually adventurous in one way or another...
