HBO would air Fraggle Rock every morning before I went to school, so I caught every episode and what a way to start the day. I must say I'm very excited to see this news all over the nets.
Can you imagine if all these films start hitting at the same time ie. Where the Wild Things Are...
Ok yes, I see that and it is magical. Wouldn't it be cool if we got some Dark Crystal characters like Ogra in the new muppet movie? The possibilities are endless and i'm willing to be surprised. Don't tell us everything Segel! I don't want to know the whole movie before I see it...
Matt, when you say the magic of the crossover... I'm confused. In my mind they were just small cameos like Bird Bird in TMM. Was there some deeper symbolism or meaning that I missed?
In Hollywood we have an old saying that is so true. "Anything can happen in Hollywood!"
I hope that along with pulling muppets from say sesame street or etc. that segel concentrates more on pulling muppets from the early days that we never see anymore. Even if they are in the scene but don't...
Ok, ok - maybe I imagined the whole thing but, I clearly read that some folks were saying that Oz should not be involved...
There are no hard feelings on my part and I certainly wasn't calling anyone in particular out with my statements.
I think Oz is great and I understand his choices as a...
Prickly? Every other post is this & that about how Frank can't, won't, don't do it. Several other people have made the same comments I have - that there's a we bit of awkward feelings on here toward Frank Oz. I think i'm just being observant.
But, I respect your opinions Frogboy. Frank Oz...
Frogboy - I think we all understand the points about Frank Oz' departure and you state them very well but, aren't you forgetting that even up until as late as last year Frank still performed for Sesame Street? He did 7 episodes in 2007 to be exact. This whole idea that he completely abandoned...
Why can't Eric and Frank both be involved... Geez
I totally agree Jimhensonhour - it is like a bonk on the head to hear negative things about someone who has brought us so much joy no matter what he's done of late.
Frank definitely still has it in him and Eric would be great too; think BIG...
Charles Grodin is cast for the new Muppet film...

Thank you Frogboy - you say it so well. I keep harking back on the same subject. Jim Henson was not one to gloss over subjects and be politically correct.
I love it when Kermit yells at the gang because it's so "HUMAN" - we all lose our tempers & patience with even our nearest and dearest...
It's hard in Hollywood to keep things relevant. Just look at tv shows with a life span of so many years before pulling the plug. Then to bring them back is almost impossible. It can be done though especially in movie form. I'm just saying it's hard to do. I believe the muppets can stay...
The critics were always spouting off about killing/shooting the performers or they would often turn on each other and talk about how they were or should be close to death or dead already.
It's not a horror show like Burton or the others you mentioned but, the themes were not all light &...
Oh no - I understand your trepidation but, these guys are turning out some good stuff. I think you are a little blindsided that they are new. Hollywood runs off the new & the young! Think Orson Wells - he was a radio head who blew into Hollywood and made one of the best pieces of cinema we...
Yes, Ozzy did it first but, Cooper followed decapitating them onstage and throwing dummy babies on stages full of fake blood... They were all trying to shock people and be freaky at the time.
I would say there is a lot of violence in the muppet show - muppets blowing other muppets up, karate...
Peyjenk -
The Muppet Show has so much dark humor & freakiness going on I don't even know where to start. But, I have had this argument effectively before. If Jim Henson was not interested in "darkness" he would not have had Alice Cooper as a guest star who in those days (I remember) was...
That is very true Uncle Matt. If you watch movies very closely you will see that everything is set up on a clock. Time is what movies are all about - and dialogue pushes the script along on the clock.
Who are all these creative people posting very interesting subjects as of late? I'm almost tempted to say Segel is on this site? I applaude you psychochimp:
Muppy & Sprocket! Totally.
Bourgeois:
conforming to the standards and conventions of the middle class; "a bourgeois mentality"
[syn: conservative
In common usage the term has pejorative connotations suggesting either undeserved wealth, or lifestyles, tastes, and opinions that lack the sophistication of the rich or the...
