The Closing End-Credits Theme: Where Can I Get This?

In case anyone was wondering where exactly to find the 1992-present closing theme MP3, it's under "Live Shows", not "Kids Live" (where the other SS MP3s are). Also, I'm pretty sure that the bells and horns music was never used with the new-style closing in the US. (I've read somewhere that...

    "Muppet Babies" closing theme

Unfortunately, I did not tape MB or any other show that I watched when I was that age. Too bad I didn't realize how much I would want to relive those memories a decade and a half later!

What year did it all change for the worst?

I'm kind of indifferent about that change myself, probably because I grew up with Snuffy being visible to everyone. I was just pointing out that a lot of people didn't like that change. I could see where both sides are coming from.

    "Muppet Babies" closing theme

For the most part, my only exposure to the show was when WNYW (Fox 5 NYC) was airing repeats on weekday afternoons in the early '90s, and those airings retained the original closing theme on the season 1 episodes. You can watch a season 1 closing here.

What year did it all change for the worst?

Maybe I have no room to talk because I'm a child of the 80's, but I absolutely agree. Sure, they may have made some unpopular decisions (i.e. making Snuffy visible to everyone), but the spirit and quality of the show was very much the same throughout that decade as it was in the 70's...

    Season premiere number sponsors

    Thanks! :)

    Season premiere number sponsors

After noticing that all of the first five season premieres were sponsored by 2 (with episode 1 co-sponsored by 3), I've become curious about the number sponsors on each of the season premieres. I looked up the episodes on Muppet Wiki, and it appears that this pattern continues through season...

    "Muppet Babies" closing theme

Well, if we ever get Muppet Babies season sets, maybe they could include the two aired LMM episodes on the season 2 set.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

Yeah, I have to agree. When the film first started, I thought "Cool, I love cows!", but it just dragged on and on forever and didn't really go anywhere. I can't even imagine how much it would have bored me as a kid. This film could definitely be used to counter the old "Sesame Street causes...

What year did it all change for the worst?

For me, the theme song change in 1992 signified the end of an era. That's also about the time that they started introducing obnoxious (IMHO) new characters like Zoe. Granted, I suppose the writing was on the wall when Henson and Raposo passed away, and the spirit of the show (along with a lot...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

It means that if you have a stereo TV, the sound will only come through on the right speaker. It might be silent for you because the left channel on your TV doesn't work, or because you have a mono TV, or something. I'm not an expert on these types of things.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

Someone on the Square One TV message board said that there's no sound on the right channel in that segment. They also included the episode endings for seasons 4 and 5, both of which have the scrolling building closing. I happen to think that was a good idea.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

The skits fade to black before another one is shown. A copyright notice appears after the Batman and Superman animations.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

I forgot to mention a glitch on my copy (or maybe it's just my DVD player): I selected "Play All" for the season 3 clips, but after "C Is For Cookie", it went back to the menu. I tried it again and the same thing happened. The third time, I skipped ahead to "Ladybug Picnic", and everything...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

Contrary to what people were saying earlier in this thread, I had no luck finding this at Target, but Best Buy had it. So far, I've only watched the "Classic Clips" for seasons 1-3, and it's a great mix of familiar favorites, segments that I had almost forgotten about until now, and ones that...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

Based on the review, this set seems to be just what I expected: a great set overall with some minor disappointments. I'm certainly not happy about the edits, but at least they're relatively minor, plus everything cut from the Noggin airings is intact, and three of the episodes are complete...

Old School Sesame coming to DVD October 2006

I believe the Pinball Count was also shown in the preview video. But I'm not complaining, because as much as I love those segments, they don't belong on this particular set.

How about a 1980's Old School set?

I have a feeling that we'll see an '80s box set somewhere down the line if the Old School Vol. 1 is successful (and I don't see why it wouldn't be). My guess is that they're going to keep going in intervals of five years for future volumes, meaning that Vols. 3 and 4 would feature '80s episodes...

Old School Sesame coming to DVD October 2006

I'm guessing that Amazon only counted the combined running times of the actual episodes.

Old School Sesame coming to DVD October 2006

I think there will be full episodes. If they were only going to release a compilation of clips, then it would probably only be one disc. But I do find it strange that they're being so secretive about this set, and yet they've released all the details about the new Electric Company set that...
