Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 35

Actually, I noticed the same thing! Chris's voice WAS edited out this time, but it wasn't before. And I also noticed the newly added cartoon letters on the screen. And while singing, I understand that they did record Chris's voice, but they cut it out, because the executive producer at the time...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 35

I don't remember the name, but his favorite moment was the "Pinball Number Count" animation.

    Sesame Song about Pockets

    It's actually not #536, it's #796 from 1975.

"Unpaved" isn't coming back, Big Bird

Mark the Shark, I LOVED that skit you did. And DonMusic, I loved yours, too. In fact, it was wonderful. And this is the perfect time for it, because it was this time of year that it went off the air last year. I actually did do one earlier, and it was about Hilary Duff taking over Sesame Street...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 35

I actually saw that episode this morning, and during Elmo's World, they redid that old song "Bells", which I knew about for quite awhile. But they didn't do the whole song, and, as usual, it wasn't nearly as good as the original. :smirk:

I believe that was Joey Mazzarino.

Actually, that was Ruby, not Rosie. That must be who you were thinking of.

    Why did Noggin cancel Unpaved?

Noggin didn't destory the copies, they're just not showing them anymore, because they don't have the rights to show them. I'm sure they still have them in their library.

Alison Bartlett heads to the Sopranos

Well, it looked more like a regular show for older kids, kind of like the Season 19 episode where she got hired to work at Hooper's. About how there were no muppets trying to help her out. The show was mostly built around Gina and David.

    Changes

I think you're right about the producers. In fact, the executive producer who was there from 1993-2002, Michael Loman, was the main man who didn't really want the show to be for kids of all ages. He wanted it to strictly be for younger kids. So, I'm glad he's gone! :)

Alison Bartlett heads to the Sopranos

Actually, there was an episode from Season 21 where she graduated from high school. In fact, it was the season finale. I would love to see it sometime, and I actually have seen a clip of it somewhere, and it did not look much like Sesame Street.

    Mail It Shop

I actually have quite a few SS shows from the early 90s, taped from WNET/New York. And on all of them, the local sponsors are "bank for kids" and "Play-O-Rena". But you know, I do have one show from WLIW, and the local sponsor of that actually is something about a farm. Is that the one you're...

    SS short (Help!)

Yes, I do know that piece. It was a robot that did all sorts of things. In the beginning of the film were some wooden dolls. And the robot could put together blocks and make words, and it made the words "SESAME STREET" in blocks. It also wrote the numbers "0 1 2 3" using some kind of white...

    My Local PBS Station

Well, they obviously don't know much at all. And that isn't even the number that I call. The number I use is 212-595-3456. But I don't know why they said that. And it's funny, because I recently looked at the WHYY schedule, and they recently pushed the airing of Sesame Street back to only once a...

Is Sesame Street under a spell?

You wanna know what? I think I know why the show has gotten a bit better since Season 33. I think that all that dumbing down of the show was mainly the idea of former Executive Producer, Michael Loman. He worked there from 1993 until 2002. And he was the main man that wanted the show to be for...

    Why did Noggin cancel Unpaved?

Thank you guys, so much for clearing things up about me. Anyway, you are right, SS has always been a very big part of my life. It isn't just a hobby, it's an obsession for me. Here's a good way to put it: You know how Cookie Monster loves cookies, and how The Count loves to count things, and...

    Why did Noggin cancel Unpaved?

Well, I do agree, it would be nice if we could keep these shows on the air, but unfortunately, that attempt is a *been there, done that*. Awhile back, when they WERE GOING to phase out "Unpaved" (they hadn't actually made the decision yet), I actually started an online petition, and the purpose...

    Mail It Shop

Wow! That's amazing about how you remember the local sponsor! You know, it might have been one even before that. But in the early 90s, it wasn't only for WGBH's broadcast, but also of New Hampshire Public Television's broadcast, and Channel 36's broadcast. Was it something that just went...
