That's surprising. I haven't heard anyone say they actively dislike Rosita. Even Nantovision has said that Rosita was his favorite character from the post-Jim era.
Look at it this way: You have HBO, but a lot of people can't afford it. So you have an advantage that some people don't have. It's the same thing with Disney+. I'm sure someone here will be kind enough to give you a Google Drive of the whole special so you can see it. There's also a chance that...
I liked the big spider played by Tyler Bunch appearing in the episode outro. I thought Rudy being scared of spiders until he learns things about them in Amazing Adventures was interesting. I didn't really like the footage of real spiders in EW.
I did like the fact that the teachers were named after Joan and Lloyd. And when Elmo sang as Mr. Morrisett, it was another instance of Ryan showing he could be a singer if he wasn't a puppeteer. I liked the ending of Monster Foodies with two different people facetiming with Cookie and Gonger.
I liked Oscar in the cold open saying "There's a little grouch in everyone." I also thought Chris having a ton of oatmeal boxes after Bert ate the oatmeal out of them and Elmo going "You think?" was funny. Cookie doing beatboxing and Gonger doing raper moves with his fingers in Monster Foodies...

You're just gonna have to get used to the fact that in the 2020's, computers are gonna be used to make things that would be impossible to accomplish practically easier. Just be thankful that the characters are puppets and not CGI.
Judging from the first episode, the series looks really fun. There were lots of good one liners. I like that the show has musical numbers thanks to Evan. Evan is kinda like a family-friendly version of Goofer from Happytime Murders, which I like. I had fun voice-chasing the puppeteers, Allan...
When I asked Rick if he could remember Blue Bird's voice actor, he said Jon Stone wanted him to have a very clear heroic sounding voice. I don't know if the voice Rick used on set wasn't heroic enough.
Thanks to my dad being kind enough to let me use his credit card, here are my thoughts. The cold open with Bert only mentioning oatmeal and the oatmeal puppet played by Tyler was funny. I liked having Abby be the person for Gonger and Cookie to get food from, complete with them singing and Elmo...
