Kermit and Miss Piggy to present award at Oscars

I wonder what award Kermit and Miss Piggy will present? The Academy's being pretty secretive about it! I do kinda hope they do the animated awards. Lately, presenting the awards for Best Animated Film and Short have become incredibly boring. Here's a video from 1993 or 1994 with Bugs and Daffy...

    The "Around the Corner" episodes

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, as these are for mid-to-late 1990s episodes, but I actually remember some Sesame Street episodes from when my brother was younger and still watching the show at that time. Most of them are from Season 28 (1996-1997), or maybe one is from Season...

    Wuv-Luvs!

Does anyone on this thread remember a genuinely bizarre toy called the "Wuv Luv?" Here is a commercial for them, from 1999-2000: Yes, long story short, it was a toy that ACTUALLY GAVE BIRTH (in an even more graphic manner than the Fuzz Luvs.) A little creepy, and a little gross at the same...

Caroll Spinney's Big Bird or Matt Vogel's?

On a few occasions, Matt Vogel would perform in the suit, while Caroll Spinney would dub in the voice. But I still prefer Caroll Spinney as Big Bird through and through. He can even rollerskate and ride a unicycle while playing Big Bird. Now THAT'S impressive!

Was "Dental Hyjinks" the Muppet Babies series pilot?

I had recently watched the Muppet Babies episode "Dental Hyjinks" again and I kinda have to agree with some of the YouTube users' comments. This was most likely the series pilot, and once the show was greenlit, "Noisy Neighbors" was produced as the first episode to air. This would make sense...

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Yep, I also noticed Bugs Bunny got a new costume. It looks different from when I saw Bugs at Six Flags New England last year: I also loved seeing Scooby-Doo on the float. He looks the same as when I also saw him at Six Flags, even though Scrappy-Doo was there too:

Your Thoughts: "The Muppets" Theatrical Film

I just saw it with my brother and a couple of friends. It was AWESOME! I loved all the references to the classic Muppet movies. It was basically a good old-fashioned musical Muppet film. I especially loved Walter's nonstop screaming bit, the 80s robot's loud modem, Gonzo's self-destructing...

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Well, Abby Cadabby was right next to Murray Monster in that window. I think Murray and Abby are both approaching the same levels of popularity now.

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Yep, it seems like the balloons are becoming less and less of a major parade highlight, in lieu of the constant musical numbers. Am I still the only one who noticed they still play the old 1992-2006 closing credits theme when announcing the Sesame Street float? I wonder why they didn't update...

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Anyone else catch this yet? It was pretty brief and unannounced, but it was still a fun romp. Same float as always, and I could see Alan, Luis, Maria, Bob, etc. on the float. Big Bird, Elmo and Cookie Monster were in the nest, and Murray Monster even had a brief solo! (Sounds like Murray's...

Fake news article about SS being scary for kids!

OK, I don't know what I was thinking when I came up with this... :insatiable: PARENTS FIND SESAME STREET FRIGHTENING FOR KIDS! By Alan Smithers 8/29/1997 Recent members of the S.N.U.H. Parents’ group have been picketing outside the offices of Children’s Television Workshop in New York City...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

Yeah, Tyler may make a good Placido Flamingo (but usually it seems it's David Rudman that takes over the Richard Hunt characters.) It was kinda weird seeing the 1980s purple wolf puppet used with the same voice and personality of the giant gray wolf from 2007 (especially the singing "Huuuuff...

Halloween is just around the corner

Yep, I just simply LOOOOOOVE Halloween! This year I'll probably go to a party as Big Bad Wolf Daddy again, then on the big night I'll just pass out candy wearing my Scooby-Doo mask:

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

I agree, that's a lot more like it. But if they must rerun the segments, rather than show the same seven or eight segments over and over, they could rerun all the ones from the past two seasons, maybe alternate. Then we'd have SOME more variety, if a segment is shown more than once, it will...

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

The classic Sesame Street News "Piper's Pickled Peppers" segment but with no Sprout logo on the bottom, and with the original early 1980s NEWS FLASH logo intact (plastered on the Sprout version):

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

Mixed opinions. I did enjoy the street story and the Justin Beiber parody. But the rest of the show seemed a little... cramped. They only had a small handful of segments, almost no cartoons either. This was obviously due to the street story, Abby's Flying Fairy School and Elmo's World eating up...

Has "Mysterious Theater" been unofficially banned by SW?

I have recently noticed, with the new release of the "Sesame Street Spoofs" DVD set, that "Mysterious Theater" had been excluded. Likewise on the "40 Years of Sunny Days" DVD set (I thought they'd include one for one of the 1989-1993 seasons!) Additionally, only one of them is available on...

    My new Scooby-Doo mask!

Just got this custom full-head latex Scooby-Doo mask in early this week... I really like it! (Yeah, many of you already know I'm a Scooby-Doo fan.) For those wondering where I got it, it was a custom job by a Halloween mask/prop maker. Not bad for a mask that I only purchased for $50 (I love...

"Toy Story 4" in early planning stages

NO. I don't want Toy Story to become another DreamWorks-esque cash-cow franchise, especially after last year's masterpiece that was called "Toy Story 3" (in fact, my brother and I went to see it together with some friends to celebrate it being the first Toy Story movie for 10 years!)

Sesame Street Spoofs coming to DVD July 5

Not a bad list, I must say. I'm happy "Monsterpiece Theater" made the cut, as well as the classic Sesame Street News "Six Dollar Man" segment. But I am disappointed "Miami Mice" wasn't included; not even "Mysterious Theater!" I guess with the latter, SesameWorkshop figured that it was too scary...
