A question about the sequence of Season 1

Ahhh! Now that's something I didn't know. Now that helps me a bit in my quest to work out when TMS aired in NZ. I think I'll start from the end of 1977 and see how I go there. The series might not even have aired until 1978 for all I know.

Gaffer is also backstage when Buddy Rich "plays the theatre." The line in The Cat Came Back is "HE didn't want to roam."

A question about the sequence of Season 1

There's a thread in this forum that lists the Production Order. I think it's called Recording Order vs. Transmission Order. ADDENDUM: Also check the Episode Guide on this web site as it lists the taping dates as well.

The Muppet Chorus vs. Glee Club

Well, George did still appear in the opening titles, but I can't recall him and Gladys together on stage. For that matter, did Gladys EVER appear on stage? I don't think she did.

    TMS NZ Air Dates

I'm trying to research the original air dates of The Muppet Show when they first aired in New Zealand. The only clue I have is that they began airing sometime in 1977, but unfortunately I don't know which month or anything. If anybody happens to know, could you please reply to this thread...

Was the muppet show meant to be structured?

If you look at most episodes, they seem to follow a structure of one kind or another - usually the Guest Star does their opening number after the Opening Act although they are sometimes the Opening Act. The Closing Number is just about always the Guest Star's last number as well. You would...

    Vet's Hospital

Is it just me or is anyone else rather astounded at the number of times the Vet's Hospital sketch was performed on TMS? I just went through the Kermitage Guide and the following is the complete list of episodes that feature Vet's Hospital... Harvey Korman Rita Moreno Charles Aznavour...

Just as a matter of interest for everyone - the following is a list of the TMS UK Spots that have aired in New Zealand since c.1986. The Guest Stars are listed but not the songs, just so you know which episodes I'm referring to... Joel Grey Ruth Buzzi Rita Moreno Paul Williams Charles...

    TMS Juliet Prowse Pilot

Thinking about this some more - if they "wisely" dropped the long version of the opening theme from this episode, then how come we had a long version of the opening theme for the final season? Or was the final season version not as long as the original Juliet Prowse opening?

What episodes of the Muppet Show was Gonzo missing from?

Technically, Gonzo appeared in EVERY episode of TMS.

    Song:In The Navy

The behind the scenes stuff was indeed filmed as part of "Of Muppets & Men". Not only did viewers get to see the cast recording the segment, but we also got a view of the control room, plus the cast pre-recording the song itself.

    TMM soundtrack

Hmm... Since the Best of the Muppet Show CD was released by Rhino Records, they may be our best bet to ask if the movie soundtracks can be re-released onto CD. Ideally, it would be nice if they included a booklet outlining the recording of the soundtrack, as well as contemporary photos (if any...
