I guess it depends on what kind of media you consume these days. Like, for the Elmo talk show's new season, I have no idea who the majority of the announced musical guests are because I don't really follow modern music. But I know the likes of Aidy Bryant or Amber Ruffin because I watch comedy...
Oh yeah, this is more like it. The announcement and poster got me excited, but that deflated when all we heard after was celebrity cameos. This trailer got me really excited again and I can't wait.
I may not think Matt is perfect, but if the audition process is to be trusted, then he was the right guy for the job. Random YouTube comments saying "Kermit sounds weird" aren't going to change my mind.

There's like 150+ puppeteers for that finale, right? It's certainly not impossible that she was there, but I feel like we have heard that from her at some point.
I think it looked better in the Monster at the End of This Story special. I don't like the method either, but it looked fine enough in that special; there was still a lot of personality shining through the characters and their movements.
And what they're doing with Dorothy remains to be seen...
I think the fact that Steve lived in another time zone didn't help much either.
He was also coming in for awhile to do stuff that wasn't even being shown on the domestic show.
By that point, I'm guessing their policy was in place about showing pipe smoking onscreen, so those got discontinued because Mr. Chatterly has a pipe in them (same reason I'm guessing they've been cut from the HBO Max versions).
