Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I understand that point and I've felt the same way on other movie series too. But technically- they're not really doing anything to the original classic. They're adding a new adventure- which the fans can either embrace or reject. There will always be comparisons and nothing ever lives up to the...
Well, the 1980s Marvel Star Comics version of "Fraggle Rock" was largely comic adaptations of episodes of the show- but I think some of the later issues may have had some original stories. Sadly, it didn't last very long in any case.:smirk:
Yay! I love The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart- both are classic sitcoms that I'd rather watch than most anything on today. If only the rest of both series would get released to DVD.:)
For the record, not everyone likes that. This is the primary reason I don't like "The Brady Bunch" or "Scooby-Doo" movies at all. (I will say "Scooby-Doo 2" is slightly better because of the classic villians in there- but it's still pretty horrible. The two TV-movies are way better for my...
I've never really gotten that confusion. Even when I watched Muppet movies as a kid (for example- "The Muppet Movie" and "The Great Muppet Caper") - I knew that Big Bird and Oscar were from Sesame Street and I knew the other Muppets were from The Muppet Show. I guess I've never really had a...
I hear this from a lot of folks, but I don't think I've ever had this problem. With me, it's been more like the TV shows and movies and cartoons and music and books I liked as a child, I still like now. I've gone back and watched cartoons like "The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin" and "Turbo Teen"...
Hannibal Lecter is a murderer, so yes- that's a fact. It's not a medical fact that Sarah Palin has no brain. The other difference here is that Hannibal Lecter is a fictional character, whereas Sarah Palin is a real person with a brain and feelings too. I'm not merely trying to stand up for her...
I do REALIZE that- but I still don't like the style. Perhaps I should be more specific- I like the animation style of the 1980s original "ThunderCats" cartoon. I don't like the style for the new "ThunderCats" cartoon nearly as much- but it's okay. It's just not my favorite style. There are some...
Lidsville is trippy!
Okay- they're all trippy! LOL
H.R. Pufnstuff is classic too, of course. And Land of the Lost is pretty good from what I've seen of it.:D
Awesome! Thanks! "Muppets Inside" is a pretty fun PC game- it would be great if there were more on this level of play... I played with this some once a long while back....nice to see it again.:)
Back on subject- I'd love to see a sequel to "The Dark Crystal" as well as a "Fraggle Rock" movie, but I have to admit that I've grown rather doubtful that they will happen- or at least not anytime soon. However, it took 19 years for Superman to get a new movie, as well as Indiana Jones, so you...
I don't mean to be mean in saying this, but even if you don't like or agree with Sarah Palin (or anyone for that matter)- could we try to avoid demeaning them please? I know it probably wasn't meant to be really mean-spirited, but I just don't like to see that with anyone.:(
:attitude: - Kermit! I must say I am not only appalled at all the weirdos from Hollywood that are wandering around here- but also at the astronomical price we are paying to have them here. I've been going over the budget and reports and these figures are sky high! We already don't pay the staff...
Haha- I remember watching that clip of the Count counting Snuffy jump on Big Bird's trampoline as a kid in the '80s. I think it may have been after Snuffy's revealing- but I guess I'll have to check Muppet Wiki on that.:wisdom:
Not being a big fan of manga and anime, I'm not really caring for the style as much. I'm not saying it's bad- it's just not my favorite. But I hope the storylines will be worthwhile- it will be interesting to see how it does. I have a feeling that no matter what cartoon of the '80s gets...
yep- Circle K is more than just a dude ranch;)- there are a lot of gas stations around the country, but of course, only one in San Dimas, CA where "strange things are afoot.":)
And by the way, "The Wizard of Id" pilot was really cool. Great job with the Wizard, King and Spook puppets. I like how The Wizard seemed to be constantly winking- which is consistent with how he's drawn in the comic strip.
I'm pretty sure I heard at least one point the crowd shouting...
So this- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-jvguURO5g - ("Tales of the Tinkerdee") is a separate pilot from "Land of the Tinkerdee"? What's the story on this?:eek::concern:
