Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Elmo's World must be at this point one of Sesame Street's longest running recurring segments ever. (If not the longest). Well, I take that back- I guess obviously the Street stories would be a recurring segment and that's much longer running of course and always will be. (I would hope.)
Sometimes we all need some inculcation and loving admonition. It is certainly blunt, but it gets the message across quite clearly. It may not be the best approach for everyone, certainly, but I think at least some kids respond to it.
Ah- the "Sliders" explanation!:D yeah, that can work. All in all, I suppose you can also always look at it as- all of the Muppet productions are just that- Muppet productions. Thus, nothing that happens in them affects their status as Hollywood actors and actresses, etc. Or their status as felt...
Just to quickly clear something up here. When a speaker states anything, it is generally implied that it is obviously his point of view, unless he specifies that he is quoting someone else or elsehow makes clear that he is being sarcastic or such.
Christians do condemn homosexuality as...
There are a lot of things I could respond to here, but I will try to reply to some of this. First of all, let me apologize to fragglerockr for upsetting and offending you. This is never my intent and I am sorry to make anyone feel angry or hurt. I realize that some do not believe homosexuality...
True. And I don't have an issue with people who engage in homosexuality- I know people who identify with that position and have worked with some as well. I'd still rather not have openly gay people on Sesame Street for the reason that it presents the message to children that this sin is an...
Okay- cool! I thought maybe I had glimpsed Robin in there somewhere, but then I wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation. And good to know Rizzo was in the closing number.
I also may be totally off but I thought for a brief second I actually saw David Langston Smyrl- Mr. Handford on Sesame Street- there with his family watching the Muppet Telethon. I have a feeling that's just wishful thinking on my part, but it would be awesome if it were the case. I still wish...
I still wish they had had at least a brief appearance somewhere for Robin and Rizzo. (Though maybe Rizzo was in the background somewhere and I just didn't notice him.)
Good points, RedPiggy- I did briefly think of "Muppets From Space" but I couldn't recall the scene at the time. And now that I think about, yeah- the ninja masks thing was a great subtle reference to "The Great Muppet Caper".
Good explanation on the Muppet Theater thing too- that makes more...
hey fragglerockr- I know many disagree with my beliefs and I respect your right to do so.
However, regarding this statement, I do think people choose to be straight. There is a daily struggle between right and wrong for everyone. I certainly have given in to wrong many times...however, I...
I just saw "The Muppets" movie tonight and I must say I really enjoyed it. All my initial concerns about the movie are still there though, for the most part- thankfully though it all was pretty tasteful and I can't recall any questionable scenes. The whole thing was incredibly tongue-in-cheek...

-Sad.:cry::eek:
If this is true, hope he finds restoration through repentance and reconciliation with Jesus.
And righteous indignation for the children who have suffered...
:grr:
True- and I can see how that would be a rationale for that. I think Sesame Workshop acknowledges that it's still a controversial issue for many and thus has steered away from it. I will say for myself, I would rather not see it on the show as The Bible says homosexuality is a sin and I would not...
