Just finished sewing the head and collar :-)

I know i know.. Please dont shoot me for posting ANOTHER kermit replica thread.. But im actually quite excited about how this one is turning out so wanted to show him off :-) Before pupils- After pupils- At the stage now where im putting him all together-

I tried with hot tap water.. But it didnt really have the effect i wanted..

I mentioned earlier about sewing the red felt to the mouth while inside out.. Hope this pic helps to demonstrate what i meant..

Ok so there seems to be an abundance of kermit threads at the moment so i thought id just update this thread rather than start a new one. Yes.. Im working on version 3! Mainly to inprove my skills.. Its getting there :-)

Or failing that, add a few stitches that run at 90 degrees from the corner (upwards to the top of the head)

The dimple will occour naturally if you round off the corner of the mouth in the pattern.. Instead of a sharp corner where the top lip meets the bottom lip, round it off a bit..if that makes sense :-)

Yours turned out great so it was worth the effort. Did you use the head patterm from the MR replica.. Looks like you altered it a bit. Its amazing how much overall difference small changes make! I had about 5 heads at one point haha

Yea i noticed the same.. And its so much easier than stitching individual fingers lol

Or.. Attempting replicas of other peoples replicas? ;-)

I would imagine most builders weather professional or otherwise have at some point attempted a replica

Haha i will hold my hands up and admit ive build a few replicas. I guess it brings back the childhood like thrill of owning your favorite character maybe? That and i have no imagination :-)

Here is a few pics of my new shape Kermit torso that i am working on.. Hope this helps.. The pattern, using the project puppet pattern as a guide modified slightly to make it wider round the middle rather than the base.

I used the melonhead pattern and just made the mouth wider a bit.. Hes not finished yet.. Ive only done the head :-) Ping pong balls for eyes, 40mm styrofoam egg for the nose and 2mm plastic sheets for the mouthplate :-)
