What was this Guy Smiley skit about?

Okay, here it goes, I'll try my best, it may not be accurate though because it's been forever: Kermit introduces himslef, as always, and wants to discuss 'clues'. Basically, it involves two of the anything muppets and Beautiful Day Monster, as I metioned before. The first anything muppet...

Muppets as part of TV Land awards

I originally posted this on Classic SS, but figured this may be a better spot for it. I enjoyed the TV Land awards as always, but can't understand why Jim Henson's stuff wasn't given any credit, such shows like The Muppet Show and Sesame Street are every bit as much an important part of TV...

Jim Henson shows at TV Land Awards

I also included SS in my msg as well. I guess that should have came before Muppet Show. I can post over there if anyone prefers to comment on it then.

Jim Henson shows at TV Land Awards

The Muppet Show was every bit a part of classic television, it was for kids AND for adults. It had a good run, and Jim Henson was a huge part in the development of television throughout the years. There was a lot of history there, and I think the TV Land Awards, though always great to watch...

What was this Guy Smiley skit about?

'Who would eat an umbrella without ketchup? Yucky!!" That was actually Beautiful Day Monster on Kermit's 'clues' lecture. Loved that skit a lot as a kid!

What was this Guy Smiley skit about?

Oops, that is correct, in my old age my memory is going on me Muppetdude. I guess what I meant was that he wasn't..well, formally introduced as CM in the first episode and early months of SS, just a monster always interupting Kermit's lectures or horning in on other skits ex: everyone...

What was this Guy Smiley skit about?

Also, I find it funny that in a few skits Beautiful Day also had a thing for cookies too. You wonder if HE was going to be the original CM. I know the two characters existed before SS, but could it have been that BD was on the street first before they eventually brought in the furry blue guy we...

What was this Guy Smiley skit about?

I saw this a long LONG time ago! It was probably in '69 or '70, but not sure. Anyway, it was a game show skit, and there was a monster couple on. Beautiful Day Monster played the husband, and that green monster with no arms (The one in the 'A' skit, 5th one on the right) played the 'wife'. I...

What I think today's SS should have

I think they should have a classic segment, they can call it something like a memory lane moment or the SS vault, something from '69 or early 70s. It's important for the young ones today to see it's origins.

Songs that still get stuck in your head

I like the 'I am a fine musician' skit from season #1. Since recently seeing this, that song is in my head a lot.

    Questions on Prarie Dawn

I think the new generation of SS viewers should get acquainted with past muppets. Now if they only brought back ones like Beautiful Day (maybe a little less scary though), Big Jeffy, Splurge, showed more of Kermit and Bert, it would be real neat.

    Questions on Prarie Dawn

I remember the play skits with Bert and Ernie well. So THAT was Prarie Dawn. I knew I've seen her and just didn't know her name. The tribute to Jim Henson was good, just very sad at the end. Anyone on here who did see it knows what I mean. All the muppets from SS, Fraggle Rock and Muppet...

    Questions on Prarie Dawn

Now I take it one of you has a picture of her below your screen name, if this is the same character I'm talking of. Was she the one with straight blondish hair? There may have been many versions of her over the years. What were some of her early looks? And was she the one in many skits like the...

    Where are they now?

Alaina Reed Hall was also in the 80s sitcom '227' along with Marla Gibbs back in the day. I always liked that show.

Noticed this at the end of the skits

At the end of every skit, the muppets would either look to the audience and tilt their head to the ending music. It was always kind of cute. Or we all know Bert's famous fainting at the end or someone would storm off screen yelling or what have you. These are just the little things you pick up...

    'Manuh Manuh' song on commercial

Have any of you seen this yet? There was a commercial for vanilla diet Dr. Pepper with a man and woman, and he lip syncs along with others in the restaurant to the famous 'manuh manuh' song. This was the version from SS. I was suprised to see this. It's good to see many remember this classic...

Cookie Monster and Melody subtract cookies(1970)

People, let's all get along here. :) We all have questions of SS that we ALWAYS wanted to know and are curious to the answers. If someone is not knowledgable of EVERY detail of a skit or show, it's not the end of the world or anything to be rude about. I should leave this speech to the...

Did Bert and Ernie ever bathe together?

Boy,your post had me worried there for a minute! LOL!!!! But seriously, I always saw the skit, circa '69 I'm sure, with just Ernie in the tub singing the 'Rubber Duckie' song. There was another skit with just Bert taking a bath, I can't recall how it went. But I never rembered both of them...
