I think you're right, I've seen a couple more episodes on YouTube and the writing was consistently good. There's genuine laughs (and it's not easy to get me to laugh at a sitcom, lol) and the moral lessons are inspiring without being preachy. Well, Carroll Spinney prefers to keep the magic...

Ohhh, maybe that's why the Sesame Street references were oddly specific (Wolfgang the Seal and the alphabet song). I mean they weren't ones your average viewer would come up with off the top of their heads.

Some parts of the fandom have gotten it into their heads that unless the Ghostbusters reboot (or whatever it is) does exactly what Force Awakens did (i.e. actors playing their original characters with fan servicey dialogue), it's automatically "disrespectful."

Can I just say, part of the reason I'm at least open to the reboot is because of Muppet Central. No secret that I've always been something of a Muppet purist. However, I've seen so many younger fans over the years come to this board and talk about how they didn't grow up with Jim Henson's work...

New and Original Ghostbusters dance to their theme song. You know, whatever you think of the reboot, these actresses have taken a lot of very ugly guff. And the original cast were the classiest people last night for standing by them (and no, they did not “have” to do that). Nice to see...
