Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Well it's just trying to remind people to keep their lives in perspective. We live in "a world of plenty" and it's a very easy to forget that there's "a world outside your window" that isn't so fortunate. Same with the snow line. We wish for a winter wonderland at Christmas, but in Africa the...

Forget Growing Pains, I always remember Alan Thicke for Not Quite Human and And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird!

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Did I ever tell you that my early Christmas song education came entirely from this album? I remember when the first side of the record ended, Big Bird would say "There's a lot more Christmas songs on the other side, so just turn the record over!" :wisdom:

    WHAT in Frog's Name!!?!

To clarify, just because an actor has kids doesn't necessarily mean that's really why they're doing a kid's movie.

How is the Music for the Electric Mayhem done?

Yea pretty much, check out the Of Muppets and Men documentary on YouTube (the clip's called Of Muppets and Men Part 4). They show the whole process of a song being pre recorded and then the puppeteers performing to the track later.

    The Oh-So-Permanent Thanksgiving Thread

Oh I hear you. Maybe Whole Foods was great when it first started, I don't know. But now, yeah, it's just over priced, and nothing I've ever had there seems to justify it. ::shrugs::

    When you need to rant...

Well yeah, it worked for Obama, I think they figured it would work for "The First Woman President" too. But Hillary just doesn't come across as any kind of oppressed person, lol. She was called an establishment candidate, which is so obviously true, and all she can say is, "Wha?! I'm not the...

    When you need to rant...

Bernie was the closest to a Third Party candidate and the DNC pretty much edged him out so Hillary would get the nomination. I think Bernie had a better chance of beating Trump, personally.

Yeah I know people still argue about that. Does being mainstream mean you're playing it too safe? Or is the fact that you've reached so many people actually a step forward?

You're not far off, the Construction Worker guy once said in an interview, "I was a bit skeptical about some of our hits, but the minute I heard 'Y.M.C.A.,' I knew we had something special. Because it sounded like a commercial. And everyone likes commercials." :wisdom: ...Oh, did you get what I...

The Village People's hit "YMCA" was released November 13, 1978. Did you know the YMCA dance was invented by fans, quite unexpectedly, on American Bandstand? Notice the Village Peoples’ genuinely shocked reactions, lol. And history is made. :D

    The "You know what?" thread

For the record, a Yale professor wrote to The O'Reilly Factor the other day, clarifying that the students would still be required to make up the exams. Are they overreacting? Yes, absolutely. But it's not as bad as some news outlets are making it out to be.

I've never been to Florida so I'm not too familiar with Publix, but I ADORE this commercial. I actually downloaded the song from iTunes, lol.
