    Let's talk about the Muppets!

    1. Kermit does flirt a lot. Annie Sue and Miss Mousey come to mind as recipients. The backstage plot in Linda Ronstadt's episode presents a pretty realistic version of pining for love. As for naughty? Some of his music hall numbers with Miss Piggy (Waiting at the Church); Miss Mousey (How...

    Just got custom Gorgon Heap!

I purchased Gorgon Heap and Beautiful Day a few years back. Would gladly buy some of the other monsters if they become available. They're really well made.

Muppets Now Episode 1 - Due Date (Pilot)

I don't have Disney Plus, so I have not seen Due Date so my reply is to your comments on character. I think the Muppets 2015 did a great disservice to Scooter. His character has always been a go-getter whether by his own gumption or a mention of his Uncle. You describe him as an opportunistic...

Diamond Select Toys to Produce new Muppet figures and mini mates!

I am glad to hear the figures are being well received. As Blue Frackle said these will probably close out the line. Unless and it is a big jump - unless the sales are gangbusters and Muppets Now is well received and reviewed. That might light the spark to go ahead with the Sam/Rizzo set or if...

Video: Muppets on "The Late Late Show with James Cordon" on Thursday June 25, 2020

I liked the appearance a lot. I laughed at Statler and Waldorf's heckling. Sometimes their bits are more complaining than wit. (And all the late night hosts have commented on wishing they had an audience, so the set up was very organic). Nice collection of characters - not just the main 6...

    Little things we've noticed

Another exception is The Star Wars episode. Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels appear both on and off stage as Luke and C3PO and Peter Mayhew on stage as Chewbacca. These next two might be splitting hairs but both Edgar Begen and Senor Wences perform characters they are known for onstage. Granted...

Diamond Select Toys to Produce new Muppet figures and mini mates!

I'm glad they are coming out with this set. I know the price is steep and some people will end up with duplicates, but I think Diamond Select is trying their best to produce a complete albeit smaller set of figures.

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

I asked this question of the whole board a few years back, so you may have answered then. If so you can double down on your answer or if your thoughts have changed - revise them. When a guest star was booked for The Muppet Show some or all of these folks Henson, Juhl, Lazar, Burns and Oz would...

    Crazy Harry speaking roles

Oh, it's pretty much as you would expect. Quiet cul-de-sac. White picket fence. All presided over by his lovely wife Sane Harriette. (They do say opposites attract).

    Crazy Harry speaking roles

He had a line "Let me blow" in the Bohemian Rhapsody video. He may have said it twice in a row? Certainly once. I don't remember if he had any in Sex and Violence.

About the Star Wars episode of the Muppet Show, what does George Lucas think of it?

I don't have a source handy to cite, but I thought I read or saw an interview where it was acknowledged he liked it - maybe not love - not sure. He also had just finished working with Frank and Kathryn on Empire Strikes Back, so I suspect he knew what the show was all about - and with the few...

    Little things we've noticed

These are not exact matches to the description but The Newsman (especially in season 2 onward when he became a bit more animated) was a very serious important newsman who had the rug pulled out from under him with the puchline to each newsflash. And the Twiddlebug Dad certainly was very...

    Funniest Muppet moments?

I will limit myself to three because if I go beyond that my list would be about 40. In no particular order: Good Grief the Comedians a Bear! The Martians discover a telephone The Rhyming Song There are plenty more of course but these would top my list. Honorable Mentions: My Wife Won't Let Me...

Diamond Select Toys to Produce new Muppet figures and mini mates!

I received MWoO's Chef ornament the other day (I was out of town for two weeks). It is really well done. If you are on the fence about getting one I say go for it. Also get off my fence you lousy kids.

Next Muppets Meet the Classics book theories?

Around the World in 80 Days is a great thought. It brought to mind It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. While not a literary classic it's a classic film and would probably need every Muppet to populate it. Maybe not a novel, but a comic book? Not sure what the licensing would be like though. So...

New Muppet series in development for Disney's 2019 streaming service

So, if this news is even slightly true I think it has some promise. If it's a limited series with 6-10 episodes (and then they could do some other pastiche next time for 6-10 episodes) I could see it working. I am intrigued/puzzled with the time frame as post Muppets Take Manhattan - maybe it...

    RIP Muppet Show Guests

I've been humble-bragging about my live theater experiences as of late. I apologize. It's meant more as a credit to the performer than me who sat well behaved in a chair. I saw Channing in 1995? at the beginning of her last tour as Dolly. So,yes 23-24 years ago but she still was in her 70's...

Diamond Select Toys to Produce new Muppet figures and mini mates!

I like all 5 seasons. I would say my favorites would be 2 and 3. Then 4,1 and 5. Of course, there are stand out episodes in each season.

A silly/practical question about the characters still appearing

While I am a bit sad Ernie, Bert and Count are regulated to recurring I fully understand why. I am delighted Mr. Johnson still appears - see my posts under the Diamond figures to see my dark confession I love minor recurring characters. Not so much Guy Smiley? I know Eric performs him now...

Diamond Select Toys to Produce new Muppet figures and mini mates!

I was being sarcastic and self centered. I would buy 6 and maybe 2 others would sell. I am drawn to the minor chorus characters. Aside from Zoot, Bunsen and Hilda for reasons stated above. My favorites were Zelda, Baskerville and the Newsman (nothing is as funny when something ridiculous...
