Are reruns of Mister Rogers Neighborhood going to be discontinued?

In a blog posting from earlier this year, I quoted from an article that talked about the possibility of "Mr. Rogers" going off the air at a future date. Mr. (Kevin) Morrison acknowledged that individual PBS stations make decisions about what shows to carry and FCI continues to support...

    The ABBA Fanclub

I actually saw it on A&E myself - Sometimes A&E will show material from the Biography channel. Last year they reran the "Sesame Street" biography on A&E. If I see that they're going to rerun the ABBA documentary, I'll try to let you know!

    The ABBA Fanclub

They're both cool. :) I think that Agnetha is sort of in "retirement" from performing, right?

    The ABBA Fanclub

I like Abba! In my musical history, they stand out as being the first of the "synthesizer-based" groups that I enjoyed. They paved the way for many other groups & their music stands up very well today, as evidenced by the popular musical "Mama Mia!" I just finished watching the video to...

    Via Alegre/Carrasolendas

Yep, I remember both shows! But as I recall, Carrascolendas was rather short-lived. I only recall watching a few episodes of that one before it was off the air in my area. But Via Allegre ran for at least a few years, if I recall correctly. Both were actually similar to "Sesame" in many ways.

"Maria" on Today show June 7

According to zap2it.com, Sonia Manzano, the actress who plays Maria, will be on the "Today" show on June 7 to promote her book "A box full of kittens." Obviously things can change, but that is what is scheduled for now. Just wanted to let everybody know so we can tune in!

How is just "Sesame" enough to know one means Sesame Street?

I agree that you would probably want to say "Sesame Street" to somebody on the first reference, just to be sure they knew what you were talking about. Later on, you could say "Sesame" after they understood what you meant.

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

Here you go. If the link doesn't work for some reason, just go to the YouTube home page and type "telephone rock" in the search engine. You should get a list of similar clips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWAYCm6b13o

    People good with computers... Help!

I just did a quick Google search for the term: "mp4 conversion to mp3" and got a list of sites offering free software that will do the trick. Hopefully one of these programs will help you. Otherwise, you may have to buy one. It's possible that a program by Roxio or someone like that can help you...

    People good with computers... Help!

I'm not an "expert", but I'll share what little I know. . . It's likely you will need some kind of extra software to convert the files so that your Mp3 player will recognize them. Many sound editing programs offer the ability to switch .wav files and others into Mp3 files. Regardless, these...

Master Replicas to drop Star Wars

One of my favorite sites for "Star Wars" information is TheForce.net, and Master Replicas has been a big sponsor of that site. I'm hoping that they will still find it worthwhile to support them, otherwise the site could lose a big advertiser. We'll see! =======================================...

    Return to Oz

That is so cool! I didn't know she returned to an "Oz" role later on. Does anybody remember when Margaret Hamilton appeared on "Mister Rogers?" She appeared in a few episodes, once as herself talking with Mr. Rogers and once as a witch in make-believe - albeit a much friendlier witch than...

    Return to Oz

Journey Back to Oz I'm glad others remember this! It was an animated movie that used to air on TV years ago & was actually pretty good. It did indeed have a few good songs that I remember, and Liza Minelli was able to do a very good "Judy-Garland-like" Dorothy voice! (Liza is, of course, Judy's...

    Return to Oz

Yes, it was pretty well done. I think you had to approach it from a "fantasy literature" angle, the way you do with the "Lord of the Rings" series. If you were looking for a "sequel" to the 1939 "Wizard of Oz," you might have been disappointed with it. But it was good in its own right. Plus, we...

    The Official Iron Man Thread.

I read Iron Man for a bit back in the 1980s, when Tony Stark had his drinking problem. It was definitely a well-written comic. I can remember overhearing a conversation between two comic fans at the time, one saying that Iron Man had the best writing of any comic book. The movie sounds cool...

Sesame Street, EC, or 3-2-1 Magazine?

Hi - That was Electric Company magazine. I did have a subscription for a time back in the day, but I now have none of the issues. :( I'd be interested in obtaining copies of certain Electric Company issues from 1980 if anyone is willing to part with them. Please post here or send me a message!

    Electric Company episodes on iTunes!

That's what I was afraid of - I know downloaded video in general isn't as clear as video from retail DVD releases. I would hope that the picture would be a little better than the average "YouTube" video. But we'll see - hopefully somebody will be able to confirm the picture quality for us.

    Electric Company episodes on iTunes!

It looks like Apple has created something to make it easier to watch iTunes video on your widescreen TV: http://www.apple.com/appletv/ The price is pretty steep, but for those of us still dreaming about watching those E.C. episodes, it may be something to think about. By the way, if anyone...

    You're an Elk

It sounds like a cartoon from Electric Company, and I think it was also shown in one of the "Noggin" episodes. The announcer is not off-screen though - he's on the left talking to the elk.

    Dvd

Hi - I haven't done business with them, but I would be wary of these sites. For example, the 1960's "Batman" series has not yet been released on retail DVD, but one of these sites is offering it for sale. Now that doesn't mean they're not "legit" in the business sense - they likely do have...
