Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

The only ambiguity was that Kermit wasn't even a frog yet. He was an abstract character like everyone else.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

It's a lot tougher to get variety shows onto DVD because of all the red tape they have to go through to finalize the product. They have to make sure all of the master videotapes are there so that they could be digitally remastered. They need to also make sure they have paid all of the guest...

Now I think we're all just acting silly. Do you want me to send out my gorilla to hush everyone up?

    Jim Henson Retrospectacle in NZ

Life's a Happy Song. I just never liked that song that much.

    Jim Henson Retrospectacle in NZ

Yes, Flight of the Conchords would be nice to see live! Also, except for one song, Bret McKenzie did a good job with making the soundtrack to The Muppets.

    Muppet Fan Confessions

#MeToo. I think I found out when I read that he died from AIDS. And no, I'm not associating sexual orientation with HIV/AIDS, but I just had inkling that he may have been gay.

What if Jim became Walt Disney Company chairman in the mid-80s?

It would've worked either way. Michael Eisner was already in charge during the mid-80s, and it was during that time that he helped launch Disney into the Saturday-morning competition with The Wuzzles and Gummi Bears, then eventually the Disney Renaissance, and then eventually the syndicated...

    Favorite Muppet Show Guest Star

Yes, I thought Florence Henderson was also really great on the Muppet Show. I liked her musical segments of "Elusive Butterfly" and "Happy Together".

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

I would say they have fluctuated in popularity. After Jim passed away, the cast and the studio was sort of in a slump the same way Disney experienced after Walt died. (They went through a "What would Jim do?" kind of phase.) And it actually sort of started when Jim was still alive; in 1986...

    Favorite Muppet Show Guest Star

Mine was Spike Milligan from Season 3. He was just so funny!!!! I think it was one of the more interesting episodes of the series in that he just made it a bit over-the-top. And it was probably some of Sam's best moments on the show, just having to bear with Spike's insane antics.

    Favorite Muppet Show Guest Star

So let's make things a little interesting here... Assuming that a lot of you here have seen or at least heard of the Muppet Show, I would like to know who your favorite guest star was who appeared on the Muppet Show and why. Who do you think really had fun on the show that made him or her your...

    "Still a successful director." Sorry.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Yes. The point is Frank Oz retired his Muppets to concentrate further on directing and other projects. Ironically, that's why he was less involved with the Muppets during the 1990s trilogy of films.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Again, I had mixed feelings about the decision, but as I stated before, Disney and JHP are both private entities that can do whatever they want. I'm sorry that it turned out bad for Steve, but hopefully he continues on with his career and maybe even launch his own team of puppeteers. Think of it...

The Muppet Christmas Carol on iTunes 4K now with "When Love is Gone"!

The Disney DVD version, which I have, also includes the "Extended Full Screen Edition with Deleted Scene" which I think is the same thing, but I've only seen the theatrical widescreen edition so I don't know if that includes the song.

As Willy Wonka would say: "YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!" LOL

    What's next for the Muppets?

That would also be really interesting. Jim Henson did so many Muppet specials in the 70s, it would be fun for the three to just sit back and go through where some of the Muppets that you saw on the Muppet Show first originated!

    What's next for the Muppets?

I was kinda thinking that they could make an actual "Pigs in Space" movie or TV show, with Miss Piggy, Link Hogthrob, and Dr. Strangepork returning their roles from the (in-)famous Muppet Show segment and make it into a Star Trek-esque kind of story, but with the running gags. They might have a...

    10 Best Muppet Film Moments

This was a bit of a toughie, but here's my list from greatest to least: 1. The Muppets stopping the museum heist (The Great Muppet Caper, 1981) 2. Miss Piggy's motorcycle scene (The Great Muppet Caper, 1981) 3. The Muppets exiting the Hollywood Muppet Theater to a standing ovation (The Muppets...
