When will The Muppet Show Seasons 4-5 and Muppets Tonight arrive on DVD?

They're probably in the infamous Disney Vault. I betcha anything so will this thread. God this thread should win an Oscar.

Jim Lewis and Steve Whitmire start interactive Youtube/Discord channel CAVE-IN

Yeah, I like Steve. I'm glad he decided to do something new and exciting post-Muppets. I also like Age of Resistance, too, don't get me wrong. I'm really getting into that show. But as I said before, even if Steve was no longer working with the Muppets, he could always do his own projects and if...

When will The Muppet Show Seasons 4-5 and Muppets Tonight arrive on DVD?

Broadcasting rights for the most part, because the TV syndicate utilizes all the copyrights on whatever content it wants to stream online. However, it also greatly depends on where you are. Broadcasting rights have their own regulations here in the U.S. compared to, say, BBC.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Or in Star Wars' case, the Last Jedi, which I really didn't think it was that bad compared to what a vocal minority preached it to be. And I mean the toxicity there is ridiculously worse than ours.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I think the Right Honourable Gentleman MWoO just summed it up here. Now can we finally have ORDAH and accept the hard truth that show business can get a little ugly?!

Someone get a BB shotgun. ;-)

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

He did want to do a deal with Disney, as long as Disney would have creative output from his characters and not the Sesame Street ones which he felt were entirely different entities, which he was right. Disney may have had a different way of handling the Muppets than Jim, as well as make some...

Did Jim Henson smoke cigarettes or take drugs?

Amen to that. That was a great book. Learned a lot about the man, his faults, his ambitions, his lifelong friends. I should re-read that sometime.

Did Jim Henson smoke cigarettes or take drugs?

I was only curious if he did or not. I would not have any different impressions of him if he did, he's still one of my heroes. But I just wanted to talk about it. See if anyone had any evidence that he was a smoker.

Did Jim Henson smoke cigarettes or take drugs?

I remember going through the Muppet Show Pitch Reel again and there's a picture of him behind Leo showing him holding something, but I don't know if that's a cigarette or just a pen. However, it never mentions in Brian Jones' groundbreaking biography on whether or not he smoked tobacco. And the...

Rumor: The Muppet Movie will be remade in animation

Haha on the subject of fake news, there should be a cartoon which Kermit disguises himself as Donald Trump, grow Pepe lips, and shout out "Tremendous" and "I'm a frog. I know what I'm doin'! I'm a frog so I know!"

New Muppet series in development for Disney's 2019 streaming service

I'm looking forward to a new Muppet series too. But it needs to be fresh and new, perhaps with them going back to their roots in a way. The 2015 series was more like a Muppets doing a mockumentary, ala The Office and P&R, which isn't bad, but it becomes formulaic to the audience. Now what I...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I get why this is old news, but I understand Cookie's points. Disney hasn't really handled the Muppets the same way as JHE, and they have consequently been overbearing with them. That's all I have to say on the matter, but it's better than being a tad uncivil and asking why this thread is still...

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

Dave Goelz is 72, and he still provides a good Gonzo and yours truly. Heck, Oz has reprised Yoda in recent Star Wars media, the most recent being The Last Jedi. But you're right in that I think Frank Oz should continue working on the Muppets from behind-the-scenes than voice them.

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

Slight problem, though not big. It's better to have the Muppets do the funk than nothing. I think one of my biggest problems with that movie was Jeffrey Tambor's overacting, which gets a little hammy here and there that it could make the theater audience make fun of him. I mean, he really is...

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

Thanks also to the Prime Time Access Rule which made it possible for the Muppet Show to air in New York and many of the major cities.

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

This. I think this is one of best posts I've seen. I wish there was a "love" button. I'll let Beaker install it. But also, they should do Muppet shows down in Maryland too, because that's where Jim spent much of his teenage days. I think some of us forget that Sam & Friends was a local show...

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

That was because the three major networks did not want to take a chance on crossing over puppets with guest stars in a more adult-oriented style since puppetry at that time was perceived as merely children's entertainment in the US. The UK, however, had different perceptions of how puppetry...

Are the Muppets as popular as they were 30 to 40 years ago?

MMW was definitely a more modest success than its predecessor. I wouldn't go far as to call it a bomb, but it grossed slightly over its budget. Which is a little understandable because of its competition with Divergent. But the other problem I think was that the screenwriters merely played it a...
