Does this site have any specific advance plans for the commemoration of the silver jubilee next year? Perhaps video of HBO/CBC show launch promos, followed (copyrights permitting) by an online airing of the first episode at the exact moment it debuted? :excited:
Which one would you pick as the most bizarre one? My vote goes to #2; what was the point of the giant bird head and train behind the elevator doors? Plus, Grace Slick sounds pilled up while singing this one.
One segment I have a vivid memory of is one of a young girl and an old woman (who may have been African-American, but it's been too long since I've seen it) crossing a busy intersection together, with emphasis of what the crosswalk signs should indicate to viewers. There was a fairly long...
Browsing through the main LP thread, this one didn't get much mention. Who else had it? It was my favorite of the ones I did have (and it was thus interesting to see several tracks were actual show pieces, including the La-la-la song and "I used to be afraid of... track). My favorites were...
How about the Perils of Penelope? Those were among my favorite parts of the Library series ("Hold on Bert, I can't be an Old Hero Switch Operator without my beard.").
I loved them a lot. Of all the characters I never saw in the Live shows, I was most disappointed at the time that they weren't used. Of course, at the time I had no idea what they were spoofing with them. I'd say the sketch with Ernie was my favorite one.
Interesting that #9 seems to be the one everyone's looking for, since during the height of my watching the show (from about 1984-1988), that seemed to have been the most-shown Baker sketch, or at least the one I remembered seeing the most (although I initally at that time thought Rowlf was...
Who collected the various books based on the series? I had about 4 or 5 of them and read a couple of others elsewhere. Perhaps my favorite was The Radish Day Jubilee; its storyline seemed just like an actual episode that I could visualize, and the climax with the Gorgs comically assailing each...
Remember when I said Kermit was in the film a while back? Check this out here:

It's at #5 on the list, along with hidden Mickeys and Goofys.
The Star Wars Special is still out there on YouTube at last check. I can see exactly why Lucas wants to blow up every single copy since the production designs are absolutely laughable, right to the Home Life and Wookie routines that makes you wonder of the Spaceballs financed the whole thing.
How would everyone like it if they put together all the best Muppet holiday songs ("When the River Meets the Sea," "Keep Christmas With You All Through the Year" "It's in Every One of Us," etc.)on a single album--or, if the rights wouldn't work out for that, have one or several artists cover...
Could it perhaps be one of the many Two-Headed Monster skits where they say different parts of a word one at a time and then together until they put the whole thing together?
Not likely for this year. We'll just have to keep bombarding as many networks as possible with petitions; eventually one of them's going to have to crack and schedule it.
I think it was more of a last minute decision to let Marilyn Sokol voice Alice.
This was one of the most defining Muppet specials for me when I was young. I would try and catch every single HBO airing each year (so when it was back-to-back with The Bells of Fraggle Rock, which I think...
It would definitely have to be The Friendship Song. While anyone can write a song about romance, friendship's a bit tougher to crack. This nails it perfectly, about how meaningful and powerful it can be.
And how about the footage of them at DIsneyland's anniversary event where Piggy cons Snow White off her float to help "lost" Gonzo. Would that be included along with this?
