I have no real problem with Matt's performance, and I'm sure it'll get even better with time.
But I am concerned about the characters that Matt "inherited" from Jerry. He's done such a great job performing characters like Floyd, Lew, and (especially) Uncle Deadly. Since Matt will obviously be...
I mean, I definitely messed up. Should I just plead guilty and accept the fine?
I have no problem admitting and paying for my mistakes, but this is the first time I've ever gotten pulled over (and I've been driving for about eleven years).
If I just mail my ticket, pleading guilty will that be...
I saw those recently (and at a Barnes & Noble) too! Definitely overpriced but all their DVDs are lol.
I didn't buy them obviously (though I'd be tempted to at a cheaper price) but I imagine the on-disc content is exactly the same.
Yeah I'm most interested to see if fellow performers will weigh in on what's going on. (Especially Dave).
Though I feel like it's best if they just stay out of it lol.
Is anyone else going to view some of the early - to - mid '90s and further productions differently?
Like, when I watch Muppet Christmas Carol later this year I'm probably going to be thinking "were they unhappy with Steve as early as this?"
Same thing with Muppet Treasure Island :( and so on
I still don't understand, if the Henson kids and Frank were so unhappy with Steve as Kermit... why have him perform the character in the first place? Why let him continue?
Reading what Cheryl wrote is definitely harsh, assuming it's true.
But if they were so unhappy with Steve as Kermit, why are we only hearing about this / why is something being done about it almost thirty years later?
And I still say my least favorite thing about this is his characters other...
I wonder if we'll ever find out what actually happened. I'm not holding my breath, but the curiosity is driving me crazy lol.
My guess would be some sort of creative differences. Maybe Disney was trying to make him do things he didn't like or wasn't comfortable with.
I'd hate to think they...
Artie is a pretty good Kermit, I'll admit. Whoever was Fozzie at the end of that video did a pretty good job too. The Gonzo was actually really good, I'm quite impressed.
Piggy was super cringeworthy though...
Wasn't Steve performing Link in those new Pigs in Space videos? Unless of course they were recorded before October 2016.
That's really a bummer though. I'm curious to know what reasons they have to be unhappy with Steve's performances. And was it just with Kermit? Or as a performer in general...
I just read this too! I can't believe it. Being born in '88, Steve's Kermit is essentially the Kermit I grew up with.
But actually what I'm more concerned with will be his own characters, especially Rizzo. Again, growing up in the '90s, Gonzo and Rizzo were really my "main Muppets", I think...
I think you underestimate how popular Netflix is...
Anyway, cool news. I don't love The Dark Crystal, but I certainly respect the work that Jim Henson put into creating the world (I've always thought the special effects and just atmosphere in general were out of this world cool).
I'll...
That's a cool book!
I'm with you on Labyrinth vs. Dark Crystal. I've always found Dark Crystal to be kind of.. boring lol. But the special effects are out of this world and I do love the world that Jim Henson created for it.
I've decided to get myself the Best of The Muppet Show DVDs. I initially stayed away from these back when they first came out because I couldn't justify spending what they were charging for three episodes on a disc x fifteen lol and decided to hold out on season sets (and my waiting paid off...
Yeah I got myself the one with Steve Martin on it way back in the day before I said "forget it, I'll wait until they do season sets"... how ironic that now I'm going after the Best of ones again :p
