Who Has Kermit Fired or Threatened to Fire?

When Fozzie did the "frenology" (I have no idea how it's spelled) where he reads Kermit's fortune by reading the bumps on his head. He streches Kermit's neck and says "Tommorrow, you will have a stiff neck". Kermit replies, "You're gonna have another job tommorrow, too".

Which SS christmas special do you prefer?

Christmas Eve on Sesame Street for me. As a long time fan, it's great to remember Mr. Hooper and a time when Elmo didn't dominate everything. Elmo Saves Christmas was good, but CESS gets the nod from me. I even have the original LP version which includes narration from "Santa Claus"

Muppet Family Christmas OR Very Muppet Christmas?

Gotta agree with the majority here and go with MFC. It was one of the last projects Jim worked on. And we're probably never going to see all 3 groups come together like that again. It was great how they managed to tie them all in together like that. It sucks that they have yet to be able to...

Sesame Street in Canada, back in the day

I do fondly remember the Canadian version of Sesame Street, as it's what I grew up on. Every morning started with The Friendly Giant, followed by The Polka Dot Door. Then Mr. Dressup and then a full hour of Sesame Street. I was very disillusioned when I read that they were changing to...

    Muppet Film and TV References

I don't know if these have been mentioned yet or not. Watching the first volume of the Garfield and Friends cartoon, one of them features mutant guppies that live in the sewer. At the end, one says to the other "Let's see if we can get a guest spot on Muppet Babies". Or something like...

    "Christmas Eve" Episode

Friends usually had a Thanksgiving episode every year, and were usually among the some of the best episodes.

Which charachters would you have liked to see on..

I think Forgetful was on one of Guy's shows, but I can't remember which one.

    The Muppet Movie/ Oz??

Wow, I never even thought of it that way before, but it kinda makes sense now that you mention it. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that's where Jim got his inspiration for the movie, if nothing else.

    Temptation

I loved how they explained the difference in the voice when they had this clip on "The Kermit & Miss Piggy Story" VHS release. As Kermit was about to introduce the clip, Piggy says something like "Oh don't show that clip. That was before I had voice lessons". Or something like that, I forget...

    Odd Combinations

It was actually a song. It starts off on street level with various muppets heading downstairs to the subway, singing as they pass by. It then switches to the interior of a subway car and the song continues. Bert says hi to Kermit as he enters the subway car. Kermit is wearing his news...

    What episode?

I believe they also sang happy birthday to one of the guest stars. I think it was Elke Sommer after which she said it wasn't her birthday. They then started singing "Jingle Bells". Now that I think about it, it may have been just the Chef and Animal.

    A Muppets Family Christmas...Favorite Quote!

After the Two Headed Monster comes out dressed as Santa Claus: Sam: Is nothing sacred? Fozzie: Guys this is the best idea we've had in years. Christmas at my mother's farm house. Kermit: Sounds great Fozzie, but don't you think we should have called your mother first? Fozzie: Oh, how...

    Remember this skit?

They did a similar sketch where they were filming a movie scene where Forgetful is supposed to go through the swinging doors of an old west saloon, and say "Everybody freeze!!!". Well, he goes around the doors, he goes under the doors and even tries to go over the doors. When he finally goes...

WHich Muppets were featured in the Muppets Tonight?

I remember he was in the closing segment of the Tony Bennett episode. They somehow locked the real Tony in that glass case where the fake one was in earlier. Beau commented how life-like he was(or something like that) and then left Tony in the case. He may have shows up elsewhere but that's...

    Swedish Chef

I love the Chocolate Moose spot. "Un now, der moose. MOOSE MOOSE!!!" I always crack up at that line. The lobster sketch was hilarious too. I also liked the coffee perculator one where the Vets Hospital run in.

    Favorite "At the Dance" jokes/segments

I forget which episode this is from: Zoot: Do you believe in the here-after. Janice: Oh yes. Zoot: Oh good. Then you know what I'm here after.

guest stars who didn't close the show

I don't think Ruth Buzzi closed the show when she guest starred(but she did introduce the closing number which doesn't count, I don't think).

    Favorite Cookie Monster Sketch

Yep, I remember that one. The reaction on Cookie's face is priceless.

    Big Bird on Mr. Rogers

I agree. When they had the A&E Biography special on Sesame Street, they showed them removing the Big Bird suit from Carroll, and I remember being kinda creeped out seeing that. I mean, we all know it's Carroll underneath but seeing them remove the suit is just too weird. And if I was a kid...
