    Classic-era sound effect sources

I also enjoyed listening to the sound effects from Sesame Street. Two of my favorite segments are "The Monster's Three Wishes" and "Ernie Imagines the Park at Night." In the former, Cookie Monster eats a truck and the destructive sounds (breaking glass, crushing metal) are nothing short of...

    Confessing Crushes...

HOW have I not mentioned Anna Kendrick yet? Or her A Simple Favor co-star Blake Lively? I think both of these women are gorgeous.

    Sesame Street Old School Outlines

Number 154 features Oscar, Herry, Biff and Sully, and a host of others. Plus, Ernie sings a lullaby and the Anything Muppets act out the story of "The Girl, the Tree, and the Terrible Troll." Sesame Street Old School Outline 154 Season 8: Oscar’s noise machine/Herry’s gym/Biff and Sully...

    Little things we've noticed

Not to mention Kermit's "What the hey," which Frank Oz borrowed when performing Cookie Monster later on. I also crack up when Frank uses the name "Cucamonga" and the phrase "Holy guacamole" or other variations. I recall Miss Piggy's "Holy maracas" a few times on the Muppet Show.

Sesame Street Episode 847 with Margaret Hamilton

Does anyone think we're one step closer to the full episode being available to the public through the AAPB? 'Cause that is a crystal-clear photo that only could have come from a master tape. I'd be darn impressed if this episode gets added to the AAPB archive at all, let alone within six...

    Sesame Street Old School Outlines

Number 153 features Oscar, Maria, Big Bird, Snuffy, Gordon, Bob, and Olivia. Plus, Don Music and Kermit rewrite a beloved children's song, Grover talks about the letter R, and Ernie irritates Bert by holding a banana in his ear. Sesame Street Old School Outline 153 Season 10: Maria’s new...

    The "You know what?" thread

I just realized how many AMAZING singers there have been within Sesame Street's cast over the years. The most prominent ones in my mind are: Jerry Nelson (listen to anything with the Count and Little Jerry) Richard Hunt (any song with Placido Flamingo, Gladys, and Don Music) Kevin Clash ("Put...

    Jeff Moss’s favorite tune

I read about a survey which concluded that most people enjoy the music of their teenage years more than other genres they heard as young children or later in life. Jeff Moss was a teenager in the mid-1950s when rock-and-roll and doo-wop were popular, so it makes sense that he wrote many Sesame...

The 'What Song Are You Currently Listening To?' Thread

Wow, I didn't know Cookie Monster could sing the blues like that! :insatiable::insatiable: :laugh: Right now, I am listening to Queen, a band that has always been popular but have enjoyed a huge resurgence with the new film Bohemian Rhapsody. However, their first two albums are, in my...

    Little things we've noticed

For anyone that doesn't know, the Cookie Monster puppet has a hole in the back of its mouth so that cookies, letters, telephones, and bicycle parts can actually go down his "throat." Usually, I thought he would just mash the food up and send cookie crumbs flying in all directions. But I've...

    Sesame Street Old School Outlines

Number 152 features (drum roll, please) Lefty the Salesman! Here, he tries to sell letters to the adults. Plus, Big Bird and Grover learn about DANGER, the Count hires Ernie to answer his telephone, James Earl Jones says the alphabet, and many classic cartoons are included (Willie Wimple, Jazz...

    The New New Quote Thread

(From Muppet Guys Talking, two of my favorite moments) Bill Barretta: One of my favorites is the guy that hangs out with Grover in those bits--- Frank Oz: Oh yeah! Fat Blue! Jerry Nelson: Yeah...Mr. Johnson as we sometimes called him. Frank: How did you get Fat Blue? Jerry: Oh, that was me...

    Favorite moments from any season

A few other classic moments that I forgot: Season 3: Perhaps the greatest Ernie & Bert bit of all time: counting fire engines and balloons at night! ***Honorable mention: "Take a Breath." Season 4: Guy Smiley hosts "Beat the Time" with Cookie Monster. ***Honorable mention: three witches use...

American Archive of Public Broadcasting to preserve nearly 4,500 Sesame Street episodes

I hope that these episodes do get remastered and/or restored to a reasonable level, so that viewers can clearly see and hear what's going on. Grainy audio and video would not be ideal. And to back what Oscarfan said earlier, the first batch of episodes would most likely have the ones that...

    Sesame Street Old School Outlines

    Favorite moments from any season

All great moments! ZZ Blues is a fantastic spoof, and Jerry's vocals are outstanding as usual. I do prefer ZZ Blues over the How Now segments and NTV, but to each his own. I also remember seeing the Little Jerry comeback when it first aired on TV. I went, "Hey, it's Little Jerry...and the...

    Favorite moments from any season

Since Sesame Street is approaching its 50th season, I wanted to ask the MC community: what are your favorite/most memorable moments from any particular season? Please list your favorite songs, sketches, films, and cartoons, not just "important" moments like Maria & Luis's wedding, or Snuffy's...

American Archive of Public Broadcasting to preserve nearly 4,500 Sesame Street episodes

I bet there are nutjobs out there who want some super-rare episode (cough, 847, cough) and will book cross-country flights just to find it. But seriously, I wonder if our "trusted source" from Muppet Wiki who has provided episode info for seasons 1, 2, 5, 7, 10, and 13 is connected to this...
