Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Wow it's funny this was announced when it was. The night before I was looking around for updates, checked here and Amazon.com and found nothing. At least my timing in that sense is working better, it used to be right after I did that someone died.
I hope the speed this up a little more than...
Dont even get me started on the stuff I got rid of when I went to college. I've kicked myself everyday for the last 5 1/2 years with what I gave away. Tapes from the 80's with unedited tv shows and specials that aren't available anywhere. Items I can't find anymore.
I've spent the last three...
I'm about 100 pages in and it's been great so far. Amazon.com has them and the price can't be beat for a brand new book like this. My wife did good by me this holiday =)
I've always loved coffee table books like this. Not only do they offer great details, but the photos and stories are...
Sad to say they've been saying that for years.
There are still no plans right now to release the show. If they do I expect a release similar to Goof Troop and Quack Pack.
Got the book for christmas and can't put it down. It's just a wonderful book with behind the scenes looks at thing and it's everything I'd want out of coffee table book.
You're very talented. You should try selling them, I'm sure there are people who'd by them.
I don't have that kind of talent, I wish I did, but you should roll with it.
Price is a concern for me, but it seems like my hobbies are all or nothing.
I love DVD's and for years I've waited for cartoons to come out, now there are too many to keep up with.
December 6th looks horrible for me. I already missed out on Transformers.
It's getting to be too much.
Personally I think this is exactly the kind of product they need to be producing to get the muppets on track.
Instead of producing low quality, generic dolls they are producing a quality replica.
Unfortunatly Disney is put in a catch-22 with the muppets. The product is in bad shape right...
Wow it's a heavy little package. I mean it's just flat out BIG. The replica notepade is awesome and unique and i love just about everything they did with the set.
The only complaint is that some of video is a little soft in spots and blurry. I think I got spoiled with the job Disney did on...
I've rethought mine.
I'd have to say mine was when I was accepted for an internship with the JH company only to have them go through the whole sale thing before i could start.
Never got to do it. Want the opportunity again someday but good luck with Disney.
www.tvshowsondvd.com is awesome for finding out about shows before they come out.
www.toonzone.com is a good site that was actually started for the sole purprose of ducktales and has since expanded.
www.ultimatedisney.com is great for all disney releases.
Yup its all official, November...
Well Disney announced today that they are releasing the first volumes of Ducktales and ChipN'Dale Rescue Rangers, so they are FINALLY going into their TV vaults.
Muppet Babies stands a chance yet.
Here's some encouraging news guys:
Disney announced today they are releasing the first box sets of Ducktales and Chip N'Dale Rescue Rangers!!!!!
Credit to ultimatedisney.com and tvshowsondvd.com for this one.
I am begining to think its a matter of "when" and not "if" anymore.
Anyone think if the Muppet Show sells well (which it seems to be), we'll see long lost muppet tv specials and maybe even the Muppets tonight?
Fraggle is just about a gurantee to sell well, so i'm curious as to which shows you think we might see from Disney. The Muppet library is pretty extensive.
The death of the muppets was not Muppet Babies....I can't stand those comments.
MB was an innovative show that represents some of the finest childrens programming ever made. The impact the show had on children's tv is still being felt.
The death of the muppets came from within. No one did...
if muppet show and fraggle rock sell well, i think we'll see muppet babies eventually.
disney is just starting to figure out the tv show on dvd craze isnt going away anytime soon.
i think the muppets are rebuilding. Remember any entertainment property goes through peaks and valleys. Disney for all its strengths had a long down time after the death of walt disney. The muppets experienced the same thing with the death of jim henson.
The key for a comeback will be...
