I would assume this is either for the 50th, or just as a tribute to Spinney. Realistically, he's not going to be able to participate at all for much longer. Man has earned retirement.
^Eh, that's kind of nonsense, and more than a little insulting to the Henson Co. Like I said, I'm not a fan of what this movie seems to be, but it's not like they said "From the makers of Sesame Street."
No, I get that, and I hope that your optimism is rewarded. But if the level of cleverness is relegated to such quips as "F**k me." "Maybe I will!" then I will certainly be disappointed.
I have no problem with shocking humor, as long as it has an underlying purpose. This is devoid of wit. I realize we're only getting two minutes of footage, but if these are highlights, this movie is going to be absolutely awful.
I didn't want to bring this up, because I butt heads with people a lot about Whitmire's involvement. But I agree, 100%. Bill Barretta is fantastic, but he is not an original Muppet performer. Whitmire should have been there, or else, they should have just kept it with the four OGs (and maybe...
At the Museum of Moving Image, for a screening of "I Am Big Bird." So, it was a little while ago now.
Edit: Overall, his body seemed fine. It was his mind that wasn't there. I am sure Big Bird & Oscar put a strain on him, but he didn't seem any less physically fit than a normal man in his 80s...
Shame to say it, but it's for the best. He wasn't particularly sharp the last appearance I saw him in. Very feeble. He has earned a retirement after all of the work he has done.
Please, don't talk about suicide so flippantly. If you are seriously in danger, please seek help. It is not the sort of thing to just drop into a conversation. I am saying this sincerely.

Brian Henson and Dave Goelz talk The Muppet Christmas Carol... and completely omit any mention of Whitmire. I can accept the idea that Whitmire can be a jerk, but you cannot scrub him...
They are a very large talent agency. They will be representing the Henson Company. I guess it means that the Hensons aren't representing themselves anymore, and are letting that go through a third party. Maybe they'll do more work as a result.
Vogel hasn't really been presented with the chance to develop the character, so people are responding to the fact that it just looks and sounds like a bad Kermit impression. There's not much in the way of personality there - but again, that's because he hasn't been given a medium through which...
I know we haven't seen any official video, and it's still too early to call, but I figure I'll just say it:
Matt Vogel's Kermit sounds like an impressionist doing Kermit. In other words, his voice is good. But as we've mentioned many times, a Muppet performer is more than a voice. As a...
Sorry, I can't, this comes from particular Muppeteers who work on Sesame. You can believe it or not, I don't really care. But you're quick to believe Whitmire possesses a similar list despite having no real evidence other than here-say.
And here's some more tidbits. Brian Henson has a puppeteer blacklist. I'm not sure if Whitmire had one, but Brian's the one who is notorious for destroying people's careers. Sorry to burst your hero worship bubble. But this is commonly known in the puppeteering community.
