I was looking on ebay and I came across this really awesome picture from the 1981 performance of "Big Bird's Super Spectacular Totally Amateur Show" from Sesame Street Live. You would not believe some of the characters they used fro it. At least we now know how Gladys and Fred the Wonderhorse...

With all of us getting hyped up about the release of the new feature film on Thanksgiving, I have already started thinking about this. When do you suppose the film will be released on DVD? Just curious. ;)

I think Sesame Workshop understands how special Big Bird is to the show as much as Elmo or Abby. Carol-Lynn Parente mentioned in an interview how he is still a major icon of the show even with other characters. Caroll Spinney himself has said how important it is to make room for other people...

They're really pulling out all of the stops with this movie. Let us hope that this will bring our friends back into the spotlight where they belong.

It would be neat if Sesame Workshop could put these into their iTunes store. That would really be something.
