I usually use polar fleece from throw blankets and stuff. I've been told it's terrible for puppet but that all depends on how you sew it. If you try to Henson stitch it it turns out awful but if you do a light whipstich then it turns out just fine. Here is my newest puppet and I'll admit I...
You're absolutely right about that. Cookie wasn't used as much as most other characters in any new material in the 90's due to Frank's busy schedule directing movies and stuff. It wasn't really until David started doing Cookie and they used him more often, the writers were able to expand his...
@MuppetSpot I looked on Muppet Wiki and it didn't say anything about Frank not puppeteering in the movie. Usually I would assume that they just made a mistake but he might have given that it was noted on the page for Cinderelmo. It was shot alongside Muppets From Space and I don't know how much...
I should also point out that Cookie was quite vibrant in Elmo in Grouchland. Personally I don't understand why it was Cookie who went down the can to save Elmo and not Grover but that's a debate for another thread. I'm not sure if Frank did this movie but I honestly wouldn't be surprised as...
Yeah, I believe Rick Lyon puppeteered Grover in most scenes. If Frank's voice was dubbed in for the full special he did an awful lot of improvising with Grover, I thought he only did that when performing a character live. And on unrelated not there is apparently a scene where Kevin is doing...
I've never really been a fan of Elmo based content. I'm not an Elmo hater but in my opinion sometimes it just gets TOO kiddie when they base it all around him (this includes later seasons of Elmo's World and most recently The Not Too Late Show) But I must say, Elmo Saves Christmas and all those...
I finished my first Honker a few days ago and I'll admit I can do better but I don't think he turned out half bad. While this may be different from the real thing I was able to make the nose actually honk, I just covered the end of a party horn with yellow fleece. The eyes are Styrofoam balls...
You're absolutely right. I just thought I'd bring this up since I noticed that in most toy lines Big Bird would always be made last after Cookie. I don't own the old Tickle Me Cookie Monster but have seen it in person and it looks as if the patterns are the exact same as Elmo. I know for sure...
I always thought Cookie became second best because it was easy to add him with Elmo merchandise, companies could just use the same patterns and just remove the nose
I decided to browse the web for other replicas and discovered Honkers are not common when it comes to making replicas. The only one I did find was this one made by my good friend Samuel Santiago of the YT channel Pupepepets. His Honker looks like a cross between these 2 Honkers.
I thought I'd mention I have plans for several Honker replicas. I'm just trying to find out what materials to use and where I can get them. I want to start with the classic green Honker with blue hair (also known as "Mr Honker") then I don't know who I'll make after that bu stay tuned for more
I was just reading about episode 2696 on Muppet Wiki where Grover appears on the street. They apparently built a street story around the grapefruit on a bun sketch. Mr Johnson talks to him on the phone in scene 2 and is seen in scene 3 munching on a cheeseburger outside of Hooper's. I don't know...
A few different things I have been making in quarantine. First is a blinking purple monster named Boris. Two sponge and towel alligators name Arnold and Alice. And a pirate vent dummy who needs hands and boots still.
